£7000 is that all? Just pocket change for most of us isn't it.

800x480 screen res!!! for that money surely they should have 4k??

Each device has a "concierge" button that connects the caller with a global team who can provide localised advice and help with events and restaurant bookings.
Oooooh la la

Does this now take the iPhone 5's title of most over priced yet under-specced phone ?

There is a market for this type of luxury phone. Vertu have been selling diamond laden Nokia phones for some years.

The handsets are sold as exclusive accessories for the wealthy who don't really care much about specifications and technology. They are sold through up market jewellers so that you can get one whilst you are in for your new Brietling, Rolex or the odd £50K trinket you decide to pick up now and then!

See the range here: http://www.vertu.com/en/default.aspx

Nope.

This Vertu is far from being their highest priced device - I mean its practically regular production. Vertu do some very exclusive models (production run just into double figures iirc).

And when you talk about spec, it goes beyond what geeks talk about - quality of materials on the Vertu are way beyond anything Apple are ever going to make.

For other examples of more sensibly priced high end phones, look up the old Mobiado range (a Nokia 6230 in a fancy case) or the Tag Heuer Merediist (two screens, one on top so you can check the time in your pocket).

That interviewer in the video seems almost incredulous that a phone could cost so much. He seemed really agitated to me!

...and I will take zero because the design isn't in any way elegant. In fact, it's as ugly as a Renault prototype car and that's saying something.

There's no SD card slot. It has 64 Gb of storage on it.
