how do we vote? And yeah I can see Roy and Hayley coming first and second, with Audrey third again tbh
Thanks for the replies! Haven't made a complete decision regarding Ken and Kevin yet but I'm thinking of probably including them as they'd still officially be considered cast members, although I'm not sure how well they'll do considering their absence

Usually the voting works by ranking all the characters in the heats from favourite to least favourite, I then count up the votes and the top half or so with the most votes go onto the next round. There's usually about 66 characters in the cast list at the point of the competition so they'd randomly be split into 6 heats of 11 with the top 5 going through to the next round in each heat, we'd then have a top 30 which would be split into 5 heats of 6 with the top 3 going through in each one, which leaves us with a top 15 where 5 would be eliminated in one round leaving us with the top 10! I haven't completely decided if I'm keeping the same format this year but it's likely I will. If you want to see for yourselves you can click on my profile and look at the threads I've created then you should be able to find some of the heats from last year on the lower half of the first page to the top half of the second page, that should give you an idea about how the competition has worked in the past
As the competition only includes characters who are currently in the official cast list as of 1st January, unfortunately Karl won't be in the running this year
The people eligible taking part is pretty much the cast at the moment with the addition of I think about 2 or 3 new characters who are arriving before 2014. It would have definitely been interesting to see how Karl would have risen though, I assume he would have been a lot higher than bottom this time and definitely higher than Asha and Aadi

Perhaps it would be best not to include them this time as they are not in the cast. Ken has always been one of my favourite characters and I really miss Deirdre's 'Oh Ken!' And Kevin was always a solid character, don't want to see them relegated to the bottom of the poll.

I don't agree. As Niall says, they are official cast members. I haven't forgotten them just because they've not appeared for a while. They've both been in it for decades and I think it would be unfair to exclude them. I want to vote for both of them anyway.

Thanks for your explanation! I had a look through some of them anyway and gathered that's how it would be done, just wanted to see how the original 66 are whittled down to a Top 30 as I couldn't find the heats for those.

Not even months : the scriptwriters have done a hatchet job on her in the last three weeks or so and have portrayed her as an aggressive and vindictive harridan without any tact or guile (which is a world away from how she was coming across six months ago).
