I'm always seeing references to these but I don't know what they taste like.
Truffles Balsamic Vinegar. |

Balsamic Vinegar. The cheap stuff is like a sweet vinegar. The expensive aged stuff is more syrupee with not much acidicy at all. Something i've not seen on the supermarket shelf yet is pomegranate molasses. |

Foie Gras
I mean - I object, and it's disgusting and unethical and horribly unpleasant etc etc etc... But it really does taste amazing. |

I've had truffle cheese in Amsterdam, and I have a bottle of the most delicious white truffle oil from Borough Market. If I ate a full on real-life truffle I think I'd die and go to heaven.

Truffles was my first choice too OP. I adore mushrooms and they make me curious.
My husband was delivered a box of duck foie gras/confit etc by a grateful student he'd been mentoring. As a veggie I won't be trying any tho'! A few Chinese ingredients for me as well, fermented soya beans being one. |

Scallops.
Crab. Lobster. Given the chance, I'd definitely try these. When in a restaurant I tend to play it safe and stick to what I know I'll like. |

Lobster, however, is quite expensive and unfortunately I've never had lobster that I thought was worth the cost. so I just settle for the occasional tin of Baxters Lobster Bisque. ![]() My 'never tasted food' is artichoke. |

Horse - I'm itching to give a decent horse steak a try after all the publicity
![]() Re foie-gras - I had foie-gras with steak last year for the first time. Foie-gras is like very rich pate - tbh the steak I had was sublime anyway so the foie-gras was rather like guilding the lily. Doubt I'll have it again as it is morally very dubious. |

Truffles and hummus ( the smell of both stop me putting them in my mouth).

Personally I don't think pan fried foie gras is anything like pate. It's like the richest most tender steak you've ever had.
