youview houses? none, but a fair few people with Talk Talk broadband and there is no way on this earth that any of them apart from a couple is going to even be able to get youview even if they wanted to.
As i have said before, I normally go for products or services which I have seen in use, not always mind you as i did not see the ISp I am using now in use, but most of the time. but only twice have I seen a Talk Talk broadband service that I can say acceptable and one of those I thought was really good.
You can only go by what you see, it is no good me saying, yeah Talk Talk is the best, because I have not see anything to make me think that way.
Now sky broadband, I have known a few people who have sky broadband and they seem to have a good service, I did get a bit worried as I recommended sky broadband to someone a couple of years back and they did have problems, but after a a phone call to sky they got it sorted after a few hours. Of cause i did not know that until a few weeks after as I did not see them for a while.
i am not a sky fan, just saying what happened and how I see sky broadband in a different light than Talk Talk.
Having been in contact with Talk Talk Cs on behalf of people , it reminds me of AOL before TT took them over, made for each other to be honest.
i admit that I dislike Talk Talk as a company, i don't like the way they sell things and I don't like their customer service, nor do I like the way they want to buy every thing that they can, just like plusnet and Bt really.
But if I do see something positive about TT, I will say so.

“I know this wasn't you, Noise, but some other people have been casting doubts on the quality of the Huawei box because it isn't made by Humax. This is ridiculous. How many times do I have to mention that I have had my box since last Autumn and it is fine?”
Well if my mobile phone produce by that company is anything to go by, then I can understand why people have concerns. but Bloated Toad seems to be in Huawei bed and uses their equipment so they must be reliable unless a lot of money have passed hands.
Not sure if i would like one of their boxes in my house mind you, still got reservations over the phone, but it was cheap and don't i regret it.

“Cast your minds back six or seven years to when Humax were the new kids on the block and people were casting doubts on their wares because they weren't made by Topfield. A hard drive is not a purely electronic device. It is electromechanical and will, therefore, wear out one day. That is true of any system that relies on spinning discs and bearings. It is too early to say how long the drive in the Huawei box will last,”
But hard drives are normally produced by a different company anyway. just two now, seagate and Western digital, which is a shame, because to be honest, I not that fond of either, WD i do rate slightly better than Seagate.
The problem is these days, everything is made to a price and then they charge sky high prices for them and also everything seems to run so hot, that can't be good either.

“but I will report back if it gives up the ghost within my minimum contract period. Five months in and it is still operating flawlessly. If it does, TalkTalk's customer service will be tested. If not, I will look around to see what is available if and when it does.”
Electronics got this thing that they will either last for a few months or they will go on for years.
so what happens after your contract is up and your box goes bellly up, do you have to by a new one?

“Sky. I was a Sky subscriber for six years, but I cancelled my subscription in 2006 and bought a Humax 9200T, largely on the grounds that the vast majority of what I watched was on Freeview anyway. I wouldn't go back. I am not impressed with the way that they do business. After I cancelled, they plagued me with phone calls for two years, asking me why I had cancelled and offering me the earth to return. Finally I blew my top at them when they rang me up three times in the same day. The calls stopped after that.”
I subscribed to sky for just over a year, never had a PVr, just a sky box and recorded stuff to my DVD recorder, I cancelled as i got fed up with all the repeats and did not think it was value for money, I certainly don't think it is value for money now. i did get some calls, but only for a few months.
Talk Talk used to bother me more than Sky either did and I have never been a customer of theirs. phone calls and their sales people calling at the door. My phone number have changed, so they have no idea what that is now and I have not seen anyone at the door since summer last year, so maybe they have given up.
vodafone is the one at the moment, calling me because I am coming to the end of my contract, but not called since I told them to leave me alone.
I still think that you view have come to late and i think the only way they will get into peoples houses is to give away the boxes with ISPs services.
Myself if I was looking for a Hd PVR the price of the you view box would put me off, there are some good HD freeview PVRs out there and at a good price, my digital stream while I don't use it at the moment is a great little box and half the price of the you view box. but then i got my Ps3 which gives me netflix.
We will have to wait and see i suppose.
