Last week, I think it was, he did a TV program (Food and Drink) where he showed us how to cook the "perfect" Roast Dinner. While I always find it fascinating watching him cook, I couldn't help thinking. Would they have an English chef on French TV showing them how to cook a "perfect" Coq au Vin?

Simon Hopkinson did a nice repice in his BBC series. He's a very well respected chef and a bit of a Francophile I think so maybe the French would warm to him.

He's sort of English. Born here I believe, though he did do French national service. Probably has duel Nationality?

Probably not. But then Michel Roux is more or less British anyway.
