In other news, anyone heard the latest, disgusting goings on in Idaho, Kansas and Oregon?

^Nope. I'm guessing its dopey legislature banning marriage..

Although South Carolina has had its ban overturned, which is a surprise for a state south of the Mason-Dixon Line.

Not my cup of tea him.
Aww really? He's drop drawers gorgeous!

Happy St. Valentine's Day and Friendship Day to all!

I posted about it over in politics, see here.

But essentially, Idaho are tabling a bill to protect the rights of businesses to refuse to service to LGBT people, Kansas house of representatives passed a bill that is effectively segregation, and Oregon are tabling a similar bill..

I rarely use this acronym, but it deserves an outing for this...

WTF?

How can such a forward looking country allow itself to be dragged backwards?

Then again I've seen its 'stupid law' time Stateside, New Jersey has passed a law requiring all school textbooks to rename the 'Sea of Japan' the 'East Sea'.

And to think we reckon we have it 'bad' over here with out politicians...

Did you see the quote from Kansas house of representatives member Charles Macheers?

Apparently, they passed this bill because discrimination is horrible.

Is this guy certifiable?

Before this week I'd pretty much not set foot out of the BB forum in 7-8 years. Now I've discovered GD and this forum!
I've had a go in the CTAM thread, and answered and asked a question in another. What's this one all about? What does LGBT stand for?

I feel like a kid in a sweet shop

LGBT= Lesbian, gay, bi-sexual and transgender.

In America, they like to say LGBTQIA with qia= queer, intersex and asexual.

We'd love you to stay! Besides we need more members so we can hold the site up and take over

So you're a BB fan too? I have been one for a long time now, I'm actually considering not watching BB15 though

With a username like yours, you can stay. Haha, just kidding.

But yeah, as Mark said, anyone can come in here. Well, not literally, the floor would be a bit sticky if you took it literally.

Sigh, looks like Uganda wasn't happy at being beaten to the punch with anti-homosexuality laws, by Kansas, and is planning to put in place the death penalty.

Yes, am an avid BB fan. Do you really think you'll abstain? I've been threatening to for years but like an addict I always think just one more

Yeah, the interference from production is too much now. BB14 was a great series for me but I didn't like how much interference there was in it, and this years CBB was good viewing too but it just gets me riled up!

What I want to see is people locked up in isolation for 10 weeks, with no family contact, no public contact (only eviction announcements from a silent studio) and tasks that require some effort. I'm not at all obsessed with BB

The last time I really enjoyed BB was when Rachel won to the surprise and dismay of many

BB is shite.
Yeah it is

Haven't been in this thread in a long while.

How's everyone's V-Day been? Should I even ask?

Yes, I agree it would be good to get back to basics.

What I can't stand is these drip drip changes - them adding a few more with each new series. If the changes happened all at once I would have probably stopped watching ages ago, but they have been sneaky with this drip effect as it has me adapting and lowering my expectations with each series.

Rachel - oh dear I think that's the only time I was mad at the choice of winner! I remember going stright on to the forum spitting nails, then feeling quite ashamed of myself the next morning

I'd better shut up about BB before ChristmasCake kicks me all the way back to the BB forum

Well at least Kansas' senate has put the blockers on that ridiculous bill: http://www.kansas.com/2014/02/14/328...-marriage.html

It's been a miserable day for me. This morning I felt okay but as the day has worn on I've felt rubbish. Another reminder of my single status.

Anyone fancy a large glass of wine to join me in my depression session?

Aww, hon

Mine's not been great. I had actually forgot it was V-Day, 'til I went on a porn site and saw they'd replaced the o in porn with a red rose.

Nothing is sadder than being reminded you're single on Valentine's by a porn site Bit of a mood killer and all to be frank

I know what you mean, first it was no LF, then no percentages and then the constant outside information being fed to the house. BB14 was the worst for it since the housemates pretty much knew who was popular and who wasn't.

But she was so wonderful, I know some might have considered her boring but she always spoke up when necessary (she and Steph were the only ones to stand up to Alex when everyone else wouldn't) and she generally wouldn't argue unless she had to, I think she is probably the most deserving winner of all time
