So true and it was a new mellimum after all. No more 19__ but 20__

I loved going from 19 to 20 to be honest. My teens were horrific and got worse from summer '07 onwards. It only got better because I finally kicked my own butt and started my recovery and making many changes. Since '12 my life has gone from strength to strength but I'm aware depression could properly come kick my butt anytime it wants. Not had a full on episode since last year and even then it wasn't for very long thankfully.
Sorry to hear your teen years weren't great, but as you said, its all much better now. That's the important thing.

No that's "The Valleys" you doughnut

Happy Valley is a great BBC drama, and it's got good actors like Sarah Lancashire, Siobhon Finneran and Steve Pemberton in it. The story is a little too hard for me to expalin but I would highly recommend it to you, although by about episode 4/5 it gets really gritty and one particular scene had me shed a few tears

Oohh that show. I've seen quite a few spoilers on the papers about the finale. They love to ruin shows.

Thanks Ludwig. I am sooooo very lucky. I'm just hoping for a new partner to come along sometime soon. I know I shouldn't be wanting it or they won't come but I'm sooo ****ing ready :|

You two are a catch, you'll find someone, you just have to find them. Besides people I know who are what you would call unlovable found their perfect matches so why shouldn't two kindred spirits like you?

Gosh Jase, you'd think in your thread celebrating Maya Angelou's life, people would be even a tad courteous.

When I saw her she was one of those people who had such a presence your heart was in your mouth in awe.

I've also seen Jane Elliot speak:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jane_Elliott

Anyways, just thought I'd post that in here until people stop being stupid out there ---->

Don't answer this now, I am aware of her now, and I think the people in the thread are disrespectful dickbats btw.

Just caught the end of BGT with the blokes dancing in heels.. really didn't care for the attempted humour by the host "what do your wives and girlfriends make of it?" FFS.

I don't think I said but it's for a place called SoLo which is a playscheme for children with learning disabilities in my local area for holiday times

I did wonder what had been said when someone said 'That's a joke'

True but after a very pregnant pause. Its just sad that this sort of thing still gets lapped up by the audience.

I should state though that I do get that it was only light hearted and certainly no malice in it, just friggin' annoying when they still have to revert to stereotypes.

Same as the other presenter putting on a camp voice and complaining that his heels gave him blisters.

Again, just an innocent joke, and it is three blokes dancing in stilettos (which is a little pointless in its own right) but I just felt the need to whinge about it.

I ended up going out, but I now see to top it off, the thread got locked. I notice there's no such comments in the thread about Malcom Glazer, questioning who he is..

Maya was truly an inspiration, and a wonderful woman, and her loss is a sad one. I don't understand why people felt the need to both disrespectful and discourteous.

I can't believe you saw both Jane Elliott and Maya Angelou, you lucky duck!

Is this the same Jane Elliott who did the blue eyes/brown eyes experiment which is based on racial inequality?

I re-watched a televised one done in the UK a few years ago and the first thing she said to the blue eyed primarily white people were: "Hi there I'm Jane, and I'm gonna be your resident bitch for the day."
