I try not to do politics in here, but I'll say this, let's hope that our LGBT cousins will be able to keep the same righst that most of them have at the moment.

Although Trump had made hints about repealing the same sex marriage law a little while ago. |

Let's hope the two houses manage to block any such move.
And, its not just him they need to worry about - the Veep has some pretty dreadful opinions on LGBT as well. |

Same here
Although Trump had made hints about repealing the same sex marriage law a little while ago. FB is annoying me due to the inaccuracy that's being reported though, people saying "white America" got Trump elected. Trump only got 1% more than Mitt Romney in 2012, he gained 2% Latino support (amazingly) and also gained 7% with the black vote. I would have sooner voted for an inflatable dolphin to run the country before any of the candidates, particularly the main two, but I'm rather tired of the hysterical whiny crybullies and their lack of logic getting in the way of this election. |

There was a Log Cabin Republican (that party's LGBT group) on the BBC yesterday saying that 'you-know-who' will stand up for LGBT rights.
I do find that difficult to believe, but what do I know. Maybe I'm misunderestimating things. *shrug* |

For me personally, the best outcome that could have came of this whoe election (bearing in mind that it was a two horse race essentially) was a Trump win BUT with a slight majority of democrats in both congress and senate. That would have meant there would be an even balance, and particularly the democrats would have been enabled to preserve some of the good that Obama did. |

I'm trying to be positive here, but think about how things are any way. OK its got the potential to be a rough time for the LGBT community, but this isn't 20-30 years ago, where it could be even worse.
The community in general is quite in the mainstream these days, in the media there are many open celebrities and those who are straight but support the cause. Not only that, there are still many poltitians and legeslators who are also pro-LGBT. You then also have social media with the Joe and Jane Q. Public being able to be out and proud amongst their friends and family. And this is not just in the US but many countries the world over. What I'm trying to say is that the community now has a voice like never before. The community is going to be challenged, no doubt about it, but at least they are not alone. |

Looks like people in the States are taking up wearing safety pins as a symbol of solidarity.

Looks like there's rumblings that DS is "downsizing". There's a thread in GD about it, with the fourms future looking uncertain.
So, if we do happen to disappear into the ether (without warning), its been fun. IIRC I've been a 'member' of this lil' ol' thread since '07. |

Well according to someone who visits the soap sub-forum, a mod has said there are no plans to close the forums. (It'd be nice if they could say it in GD.. but hey ho what can you do).
Anyways.... I do mean what I said earlier, this thread (despite it being on its ar$e in recent months) has been a hoot. And certainly been a wonderful friendly spot for this silly old fart. |

Forum is probably in trouble because it doesn't fit in with the new direction the main news sections have taken, which if you ask me, have become the pits. I look at the main home page and its news stories are all jumbled around, though the interface is certainly the least of its worries, its reporting might as well cite Tumblr and Buzzfeed as its main source of everything.
I like popping in here now and again too, if anything just to be pervy about the Strictly men

I haven't looked at the front page in donkey's years. Some have stated that forums are on the way out as its all about social media these days.
Well I've been on a forum that closed. I was litrally the only member left posting... so in terms of traffic, DS is doing just fine. My only concern is that the owners wouldn't listen to us and will shut the forums without warning. And yes, we do have our fair share of comments about the SCD pros - I find it more suitable to do that here rather than in the SCD sub forum. And its not just exclusively SCD. I've not seen Mark-Paul Gosselaar since Franklin & Bash ended. Can't say I'm a fan of the beard he's sporting in 'Ptich' http://akns-images.eonline.com/eol_i...2_f_hires2.jpg |

I don't normally watch Dr. Who, but I've just seen an ad for its spin-off 'Class' with Greg Austin... might have to watch now.

He's still looking pretty damn good today, shame he wasn't out in 99', could have made a lot of men very happy.

Hello everyone. Haven't posted in this thread before, so I hope you don't mind me pushing in
![]() I have to say, given the decline in quality of the main DS site over the past couple of years, I think that the forum is probably one of the main drivers of traffic to the entire website. I was involved in the thread on the soaps forum that was locked by one of the DS Mods and can confirm that he/she left a post saying that there are no plans to close the forums. |

https://twitter.com/MLS/status/803081005632540673 Don't get me wrong, any positive gesture is welcome, but wouldn't it be better if one whole side of the stadium was seated in the rainbow colours..!! |
