I have been around on DS from time to time, but I've been really busy just lately with work - doing lots of overtime, it's been quite stressful, but got some extra money in my back pocket!

What have you been up to?
I've been OKish, I'm stressed about exams, it's almost impossible to find a job atm, and I'm getting really excuse my language but f*cked off with jobcentre, making people go through all these hoops just to put a CV in!

My gran also died yesterday

Thanks. I sort of feel OK, it hasn't really hit me yet I don't think.

I'm really sorry to hear about your gran, do you have lots of family/friends around for support? Sounds like you've had a bit of a rough time of it lately - be kind to yourself. The job centre can be a right pain in the backside. I was lucky enough to find work within a few months of signing on. Have you been revising much for your exams? What are your exams in?

Yeah I'm going to stop looking for now, well until my exams re over at least, it's too much pressure for one to handle.

Yeah of course, it's just going to hurt me particularly because she wasn't like your conventional grandmother, she was very young at heart, I always liked that about her.

She was 75 to be fair, and it was lung cancer, not much of surprise since she smoked like a chimney, but she was only taken in hospital on Sunday, and apparently she was a chatterbox all day but she deteriorated in the night, I just didn't think it'd happen so quick.

I shouldn't worry too much Jack; I've been rocking the slightly-overweight look since circa 1999... It's gradually coming off through going to the gym lots this year at least!
There's nothing wrong with a few squidgy bits, as you used to say.

Congratulations Jason
Thanks !

Congrats Cakey!

.....

Some may have seen on the news that Jason Collins has become the first active pro-athlete in the US to announce he's gay. Some are suggesting more could follow now. Perhaps not a big deal for us Brits but I guess it could persuade someone over here to do the same.
Thanks Mark!

Is he the NBA player that the American press have been at pains to point out hasn't been all that successful in terms of All-Star stuff?

Evening everybody hope you're all well. I'm glad the evenings are getting lighter now.
Heya!

Yeah I love a good sunset.

Thanks. I sort of feel OK, it hasn't really hit me yet I don't think.
Aww, sorry for your loss sweetness, if you need to talk you know where I am.

I've not seem much comment on his playing ability, from the bits I've seen there's not been much criticism of his skill. He seems like an average player, and most outlets seem to be overlooking that to praise his decision.

Hopefully he'll get signed by a team for at least one more season - but that's a damned if you do, damned if you don't scenario. If he's picked up it'll be "because he's gay" if he's dropped then it'll be "because he's gay".

I heard about this the other day, he also had a girlfriend or fiance for 7 years!

So happy that school is over, I've got myself a bottle of malibu and some cava, off to my friends later

Me and my besto weren't even in the yearbook, in fact it seems to be the people who control the yearbook and their cliquey pals all in them, so I never bought one. And the head girl gave a bull speech about us "coming together as year" yet she's having an end of year party tonight and a handful of people myself included aren't invited... yeah, so much for coming together

Sounds very familiar! I remember not being part of the clique, and not being invited to the "cool parties" and the yearbook had the same faces in them.

I went out last night - lovely weather, so me and my friends Tom and Rich went to a pub, sat in the beer garden and had a few drinks. I was only meant to have a pint or two, but then ended up getting a bottle of wine too!

To be honest, I shouldn't be bothered about not being invited since I would have been bored out my skull if I was, I don't have anything in common with those people, I find them really boring anyway. I'd rather be with my real friends or even on my own, I like my own company sometimes.

EDIT - Oh and lovely weather eh? good for you, it's pissing down here

Did I say old? I meant young, youthful and ever so foxy.

No I can't detect a shred of bitterness. Honestly though, in a few months time you won't care even a tiny little bit. You have your real friends and that's what matters.

I'm not too bad thanks. Losing my faith in gaykind but other than that I'm alright.

That reminds me of a Swiss produced pop song, which went to number 1 in Belgium .
