The results were odd to be fair, but the favourite won I suppose. And it has grown on my since. Shame about Ireland.
Screw Ireland, they blew.

I thought Norway were well screwed, and what was up with Azerbaijan finishing so high?

Paisley wasn't half spouting some rubbish on last nights Question Time regarding gay marriage if anyone watched it.

Arguing that he's not trying to stop gay people from getting married because they can get married...to a woman. Hilariously stupid.

Who is Paisley?

Quite ironic that this guy sounds like a shit and I live in a town called Paisley which is shit in itself.

I unfriended for the first time tonight, really disappointed in a few people :/

Ian Paisley Jr., MP (North Antrim).

I heard him too, came out with some stupid statements.

They just showed some VT of Birmingham Pride on the news. Why do I cringe when I see some of it?

Birmingham pride lol

Why would you have pride based on circumstance of where you're raised? you don't exactly have a choice in the matter

Right.

I don't see the point in gay pride either, I think it sounds like a good day out and fun, but I'm not really sure. People say sexuality is what you're born with, so it's like being gay, lesbian, bi or trans is somehow something to be proud of ???

Message to anyone going to see Hangover 3; lower your expectations.

It's a nice, decent film. It's not, however, at all on par with the first two, not even close.

Historically it was really important. Obviously, it still does have political involvement, but it does seem to be more about a good day/night out now, which isn't exactly objectionable...

God could it have gotten any worse? Unpopular opinion I know but I thought the first two were shit anyhow so this one must be a trainwreck

Well I get the reasons why it was started (as Cakey pointed out) but it just seems to be more of a party parade than anything else now.

I know it'll make me sound like a prude but I think that's what made me cringe - not the drag queens themselves, but rather the group as one. Like the muscly guys in briefs - I get the reason why they're there but I don't see why the need to prance around in their pants for gay rights.

I don't know whether I'm explaining myself very well.

They're not prancing around in their pants for gay rights silly, they're just having fun.

The idea of gay pride seems a little outdated and unnecessary to me. The majority of the country supports us so we don't really need to rally for anything or kick up a fuss.

It's just a party anyway so it doesn't really matter.

Well if you hated the first one then you'd think this one is a real dog.

I know, just there for titillation.

It just seemed to me, viewing the news clip, that that's all that's ever shown when it comes to pride events. Men in pants and drag acts.

I could just imagine the less-than-favourable straight viewer thinking "uggh".

Perhaps I'm just odd like that.

It'd be really unfair to think that we have it pretty cushty here, so we can just ignore all the injustice in the world.

The love without borders campaign is really important for instance..

It's no surprise to me that they play down the political aspects, given that the different Pride organisations don't necessarily put it at the forefront.

IT was just slapstick and no substance for me, one of those films everyone raves about and has a load of hype to it, I thought it was a turkey lol

A big move for the world of football, Robbie Rogers, after leaving the sport due to coming out, has resurfaced in L.A : http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22668369

It sounds like MLS plan to have him involved in some off-field work.

That's a good point.

And much less self centered than what I said.
We are very lucky with the gay issue over here but, you're right, we shouldn't forget how people in many other parts of the world have to suffer for it.

Excellent news. Although some cynics will probably say its just to get publicity... which part of me thinks "so what", let the lad play. He's obviously talented enough for the Galaxy to pick him up.

I guess LA is probably one of the better places for him to play, not only for the team's stature within the league and the national eye, but also for the local fan base.

There was a story the other day about a San Francisco player who has admitted that he was homophobic and when travelling to SF, as an opposing player, he used to seclude himself in his hotel room. Now he's been on the team 5 years and admits he was wrong and has changed his views.

EDIT: found a link for the above.. if anyone wanted to read it.
