Gawd, this new layout's gonna take some getting used to. Bit odd trying to navigate it.

Could DS not afford the superior old layout? this looks so cheap and dated

Ooh its a bit weird. I quite like the new streamlined logo and the front page (with its glassy rollover thingy) but the forums looking a bit of a dogs dinner.

It's shit, some posts are actually being cut off, it's shoddy.

I'm actually getting a headache the longer I look at the forum. I also don't like the typewriter-type font when writing posts. I know it doesn't stay like this, but I still don't like it.

Just feel like whinging tbh

On the homepage, put the mouse bit on Showbiz and it drops down, GaySpy's there.

Ah. Cheers for that. Finding things is now difficult for me on here.

I can't see 'em changing much. Probably a few tweaks to shut us up.

I see Tom is splashed (pun intended) all over the papers. Now while I defended the reporting earlier, I do question whether it needed a three quarter photo splash on the front of the Indy and Gardy.

I was just venting about something being missing, which I've now found out are called Breadcrumbs.

Basically, like, I wanted a way to navigate my way back to the sub-forum the thread I'm reading belongs to, without having to use the forum jump box, like you used to be able to.

But it's gone.

At the very top there's the list/directory. Its above the forms logo and under the banner - you have to scroll to the very top of the page to get it.

Home>Forms>General Discussion>

etc.

Each is still a link.

I use ad-block and Chrome, which is causing the problem. But I won't switch ad-block off, because often the DS adverts have viruses.

Ugh hurry up already and get it sorted

*waves hello*

I forgot to say I watched Tom's video. Kinda not surprised as there's been speculation for soooo long and why should it be a surprise?

Hope you're all okay apart from this silly forum

Thanks. Had a feeling that was probably the case :/

Edit: Just realised how rude I was earlier. Oops! I'll blame the stupid layout! Big warm hello to all our newbies in here (and you oldies too!). Hope you're all having a great festivey season already

Ah I see!

Yeah I've heard a lot about dodgy ads on the site. Really poor show from such a big website.

True... we all assumed, but I get the impression that its all new to him. Especially the way he explains it. It doesn't come across that "well I wuz gay all along" its more of a revelation to him when he met this fella.

I was thinking this morning that what would be good now is if he lands a decent sponsorship deal.

Actually, in the video, he said it wasn't exactly a surprise. And I'm sure it wasn't.

He doesn't use any labels, but maybe he just doesn't like labels, some people don't. He could just see sexuality as fluid, and just be attracted to a person, rather than gender.

I hate that people are saying that they all knew. Stereotypical bullshit.

I see they've fixed some of the issues with DS. It's looking sort of okay now.

I viewed it slightly differently. When I said it was a surprise I didn't mean as completely out of the blue but rather something that was in the background that has moved to the foreground (if that's the best way to put it).
Naturally I'll add the caveat that I'm only making summations.

They had a great interview on my local BBC Radio station with a guy from the city's LGBT Centre that mentioned that same point.

The media has jumped to the conclusion he's gay yet he never said the word. Although saying that some outlets did carefully explain that he was "in a relationship with a man". Guess its not an easy thing for headline writers to do.

It's also bugged me the way that some seem to erroneously report that he is almost the "only one" in sport.
For example I heard one talking head declare that there are no pro-footballers out. Wrong, there are 2. Anton Hyson (SWE) and Robbie Rogers (USA).
And Tom is not the only one in his sport, there is also Matt Mitcham who won gold in Beijing '08... which kinda blows this ladies argument out the water:
Esther tells JVS that Tom Daley's gay relationship has ruined his diving!

I tend to agree, but I'll raise my hand and admit that I did come to the same conclusion as some others - we may joke about the ol' 'dar but we do naturally pick up on things. I just wouldn't go on my high horse and say "told ya so" as if it makes me seem superior. And thankfully even though we've had the odd joke in this thread I think we've all been rather respectful, as opposed to some in the wider posting DS world.

I see the focus has now shifted to the alleged boyfriend and the age gap. Poor kid, cut him some slack for five minutes!

I guess there'd be immense interest no matter what.

Is his bf younger or older?

That's why I couldn't be a public figure, all these nosy knobs and their questions! :s
