Continuation of: The Ratings Thread (Part 53)
I think Corrie could well crack 10 million on Wednesday, yes, including +1 anyhow.

Tonight's hour-long and tomorrow's double appear to lead to a huge cliffhanger into the Wednesday hour-long which is the episode where shit hits the fan big time at a Christening in a storyline that's been running for well over a year. Plus there's the return of Liz McDonald and Roy and Hayley's Blackpool trip.

So yeah, think it'll be mid-9s without +1 and crack the 10m mark including +1.

Tonight's episode features the DND test reveal of 'Who's the Daddy' though (which has been kept out of the press), so it's highly anticipated also, though not as much as Wednesday I shouldn't think. The whole thing will just build though, as will Emmerdale's big week-long siege-in-a-storm.

It's why I do think we'll see impressive figures for both. Not astronomical, but markedly up.

New thread!

Regarding the Coronation Street christening storyline, that's been running since Christmas Day though I am being pedantic in saying that.

DS, we are missing Part 3. Any way you could try and get that re-uploaded? Thanks.

Corrie breaking 10m is quite likely, being preceded by an hour long Emmerdale which could edge towards 8m. We've seen with soaps that a lot of momentum can be gained within a day or a few.

All those lovely ratings gone!

I remember 2006 the days of copying and posting ratings from Gallifrey Base. Seems so long ago!

The problem with Emmerdale's is that they haven't in the trailer, to my knowledge, singled out the Wednesday episode. If they did we could be looking at low 8s (although that's still achievable). Hopefully it'll just build through the week with Wednesday and Thursday probably being the peak. 7.8 could be the highest but I hope it goes to 8.3 ish..

Is there an old ratings thread I don't know about?

And they are still available so hardly gone.

As a side note, the first 1125 posts from Part 3 of the Ratings Thread have been polished and restored to their former glory and can now be accessed here. Please note this is a huge time investment for us (as well as server intensive) so that we're taking this slowly at first to see how it works out. Enjoy!

Corrie's been rating well anyway recently, and it is a fairly big week this week. The momentum from Monday night could see a strong performance on Wednesday as it is a fairly major episode. ITV should have quite a good night that night actually with both soaps pulling out hour long specials, although I'm not sure how well Cilla will fare...

The prelude was where it all started on Digital Spy but it really all started on Gallifrey Base in 2005. Doctor Who fans kept looking at the ratings as they worried the show would be cancelled.

As a reminder from the part 53, this piece of news could hint at what sort of programme will be on Mondays on BBC1 from 28th October.

Points of View confirmed that starting at 8.30pm, in its new regular slot, on Monday October 21st will be A Question of Sport.

These factors, among others, make last night's figure look worse. Traditionally, the second week sees a decline.

I don't think the choice of acts turned people off - they certainly didn't in 2010 and 'Gamu-gate' was a lot larger than the controversy with Melanie/Paul being voted off. So maybe the flash vote, or the choice of songs turned viewers off?

That said, XF needs a bit of momentum, which should bring the Saturday shows back to 2008 levels.
I wonder how Fool Britannia performed as a lead in for The X Factor? Celebrity Chase was up week-on-week despite Strictly also increasing which doesn't make The X Factor's decline look any better.

And because it isn't normally on Sunday now, so there's added need for promotion.
They don't usually give it that promotion though; the amount they've given this episode is quite unusual in the great scheme of things.

That's a good move. Where the hells Panorama going!!

As David Dimbleby says "10.35 after the news!". That's my guess anyway.
