Well there was a lot of problems last night due to them using the production equipment at the venue rather than their own equipment which they usually use. The show was not live last night but on a 1 hour tape delay. I watched most of it last night and even during the commercials next weeks Friday show was constantly promoted as the first show. I think last night's show was just an introduction of TNA to the channel.

Then why air this one live? What kind of relaunch happens two weeks into a new run?
It wasn't even live - it was on tape delay from earlier in the night, which led to some typical TNA disasters because there was some sort of delay where JB had to try and keep the crowd occupied and they turned on him and were booing a lot. They got the issue sorted in time but if it had have dragged on too long, then they might. Not have had a finished show in time to air. Imagine if it HAD been live!

Then I'm really confused as to what exactly they've been doing for the past two months!

Surely your big relaunch is the show you put your best foot forward but instead they decide the second show is the one that is the real relaunch. Oh wait, we're talking about TNA. This is completely logical for them.

I will be I just don't understand the logic of it. They've had two damn months without working a single show lol and they apparently decide to put their big launch on the second episode lol. It's so dumb it actually hurts me lol

I'm watching IT now! 👏

(As for Del Rio the guy is quality & well worth $500k regardless of the rest of the staff! 😇 ... He's the kind of guy they need! 😎 someone who'll get the Latino audience watching! 👍 )

Del Rio ain't gonna sign, nor will he do much to bump ratings considering that they are on such a niche channel. TNA need to start fresh and build new stars rather than going for expensive names that a) they can scarcely afford and b) won't bump the ratings.

Incidentally, I like Del Rio and have nothing against him. I just don't think this is the right move for either side really.

Yeah apparently Del Rio wants a non-exclusive contract so he can still work ROH and Lucha Underground whilst Dixie is ruling it out and making it unlikely for a deal to be reached.

I like Del Rio too, he's not one of my favourites and he bored me, but I like him and wouldn't be against him joining TNA all but as I said the other day, take a punt on ten indie stars at $50k a pop. If TNA did that deal, it really would show they've learned nothing from Hogan, Bischoff, Steiner, Flair, Sting and Angle (and I have nothing against at least the final two) getting huge pay packets and not seeing ratings rise. If you can't get people to tune in when probably the biggest most globally recognised name to ever step into a ring is working your promotion, Alberto Del Rio certainly aint gonna do it (which is said to be at least part of the reason Vince doesn't see them as competition) and it's wrong to even suggest he should be commanding $500,000 (even with Destination America chipping in) when people haven't been making money for two months and even one former employee is earning more working in a supermarket.

Well only the Austin Aries match has been worth watching so far! ... I'm bored shitless if I'm being honest! ... wish the Bobby VS Bobby match would hurry up so I can switch it off!

Aye the ring setup is all black, it looks quite nice! 👍 ... The lighting was switched off so you couldn't see the audience (only the ring!) 😇 ... The show was exactly the same as previous efforts so this talk of a reboot is rubbish! 🙈

I just went to set a Remote Record for Impact this Sunday on the Sky app, and the main image accompanying the show is of...AJ Styles. #Fail.

NJPW doesn't follow the same format as the American stuff with the weekly shows though.

I know but it would still be better.

I think if some channel could do a deal with diffrent promotions world wide it could work

Week 1 NJPW
Week 2 Noah
Week 3 CMll
Week 4 ROH

Ect.

I wonder if Jarrett's plan for GFW is to put a weekly TV show on with highlights/matches from the last week across lots of promotions from Japan, the US and worldwide. Then offer their big shows via PPV.

Almost like a modern day NWA.

Jarrett has said his plan is to run weekly television, live events and PPV with a GFW roster whilst at the same time cross promoting with the many promotions he's signed deals with to bring their shows to a US market

i was on the official forums too, it was full of meltzer wannabe geeks, it clearly didnt catch on as ratings suggest. i didnt know one casual fan who watched it.

it was good channel but it didnt work in terms of ratings, its not way TNA should move forward

although TNA existed before TWC, i used to get it sent from a tape trader.

That could work and I'm sure some UK channel could pick it up if not there are other ways to watch it.

He has said though there will be GFW matches and GFW Championships but I wonder if in return for TV time in the US which Jarrett will pay for and sort out they put a GFW Match on any card Jerrett helps promote.

Say for example next year at Wrestle Kingdom 10 they could have Jarrett vs AJ Styles for the GFW Championship

That sort of thing would be cool but like Hollie said, Jarrett is planning to run his own shows. It would be good to incorporate highlights and updates from their worldwide partners to build up PPVs or hype wrestlers coming over for cross-promotion angles.

I would love to see more of the NJPW guys with English language commentary!
