It's only ten seconds. Vince as the higher power - IT WAS ME AUSTIN! IT WAS ME ALL ALONG AUSTIN!
rock turning heel at deadily games was still my favourite the key to both? month long build ups i bet the booker who did both of those storylines is universally loved.... |

I love a good faction but TNA killed that from the start of Main Event Mafia right through now to MVP's faction. It's like people say WWE use authority figures as a crutch, TNA use (mostly heel) factions as a crutch.

aces and eights was really good when it started but it was also coming off the back of many other factions. as fmkk said tna need to stop doing it i tell you what though if wwe decided to have a big faction it would take off even with wwe booking, i am sure of it. |

It's not a real sport. It's a monster that needs to be fed every week. Every week you need to feed it new material. Russo says come Tuesday morning he was sick of hearing about what happened on Raw the night before. He said he would be in limos with Vince and Shane and Stephanie and all they talked about was how good the show was and how good this match was and that angle was and it didn't matter anymore. As soon as the show finishes the concern should be next weeks show and how to make it better.

If I remember correctly, Vince being the higher power actually made no sense with the booking that had taken place in the months before it was unveiled.
Also when they were booking it, supposedly they haven't agreed who it would be, thus some of the plot holes. |

It really isn't though because WWE still do them. What do you think The Authority is? And the Team Cena vs. Team Authority match at Survivor Series was?
i am talking, nation of domination, dx, corperation ,ministry, nwo, horseman etc shield, wyatts, evolution are factions, i have never said they are not, i said i would like to see wwe do a bigger faction war. authority are a faction but have no faction to fued with so its not a war. |

You need long term story arcs that make people want to see how things progress.
Russo on many occasions had to be reigned in as he wanted to throw out things early rather than letting them build. Undertaker vs Kane being one of them. |

Weren't there online rumours at the time of it being Hogan? Obviously wasn't even a possibility but if they ran Hogan vs Austin in 1999, it would have been the biggest match ever!
If I recall correctly, Foley said in one of his books that he was asked to be the higher power at the last minute, but he said no as he couldn't wrestle Austin that month due to injured knees anyway. |

The thing about the Higher Power storyline was that as much as Vince as the Higher Power made no storyline sense in truth no one else made any more sense. It was such a bad angle.

There were definitely rumours at the time that Mike Tyson owed them another ppv and it was going to be him.

It's been speculated in recent years that Don Callis aka The Jackyl was Vince Russo's original 'higher power', but that could easily be internet bull. From what I've read Russo has always been unusually quiet on what was planned, suggesting either A) It was an awful idea or B) Vince McMahon took control of the who-is-it early on.
In hindsight the best choice would have been Stephanie McMahon. A bit cliched for sure, but everything would have fit into place and she showed later that year how good she was/is as an onscreen character. |

I've not read spoliers but there is a feast or fired match next week and so far Magnus and Bram are in it.
Unless a really lower card act gets in it I can see Bram getting fired he's not all that needed or good. |

So it's true then, TNA literally has one booking idea. Has there ever been a shittier name for a stable?

In fairness they must be running out of stable names at this point.
