TNA PPV's have never made money, they attract less than a tenth of what even the lowest drawing WWE PPV gets in buys so it's pretty certain TNA are losing money even on their biggest PPV Bound For Glory which is why the show was reduced to being a Japanese event last year, this was to help keep the costs down for TNA and attract a different audience, trouble is it had no connection with current TNA storylines or feuds and made a mockery of what is supposed to be their version of Wrestlemania.
The cull of PPV's to four per year was done to cut costs and to try and spark more interest in the remaining events through the year, that failed and the events drew as abysmally as before, so this year it would seem they are scrapping PPV's perhaps completely.
In honesty this is sensible, Destination America seem to be more flexible with the TV programming TNA put out so perhaps they could run extended three hour editions of Impact each month with a PPV theme rather than actual PPV events. This would compensate for no actual PPV's and allow the big pay offs for feuds etc.
I've watched the first two DA episodes and enjoyed them for the most part, TNA have some good talent capable of good storylines and matches, the problem is the product lacks originality and the credibility of TNA as a whole has been damaged by the crippling financial issues they had last year, so much though that a lot of talent apparently now consider working there a career killer, Alberto Del Rio was apparently offered a big money deal to come in on a light schedule but rejected it deciding Lucha Underground and ROH are better options right now.
The best thing for TNA right now would be some sort of merger with a company like New Japan, GFW or even Lucha Underground or ROH, it would allow a expanded roster, additional programming, a bigger fanbase and financial investment and more creative input.
