What is up with the announcing?

For some matches/segments Josh seem to be the face and Pope the heel

In other matches/segments Pope is the face and Josh the heel

The best bit was she using twitter as normal through the entire thing promoting appearances this weekend.

Say what you want about WWE, but at least they would have likely told her not to use social media when apparently dead in kayfabe!

If their never-ending quest to make their pay-per-views totally irrelevant (which would beg the question: "Why in the hell are you still doing them?") TNA announced that their next title match (involving EC3) will happen NOT on Slammiversary but on the July 1st episode of Impact. The only match announced for the ppv so far is Storm vs Magnus.

I assume they believe- and they may well be right- that however many people are willing to buy a TNA pay per view now won't care what the card is, and it'd be easier from a taping continuity point of view for the ppv to be stand alone. Meltzer said he believed the New Japan Wrestle Kingdom January show did more North America ppv buys than this June TNA show will do.

In other news GFW aka The Force are using a six sided ring. Will this lead to a twitter war over whether GFW has the moral/legal right to do this? I can only hope so.

I wonder how ticket sales were for their first show. They've been adding dates I think so I guess Jarrett is happy enough with the numbers. Not sure about going for six sides over four though. It's too heavily associated with TNA.

EDIT: Seen suggestions (unsubstantiated) of 300-500 in attendance. Pics on Twitter painting a grim picture.

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CHWAmPJUMAEVhtJ.jpg 300-500 looks optimistic. May have been a sold show though, where the local promoter/ball park pays GFW a set amount for it regardless of how it does.

Sold show or not, that looks pretty depressing and isn't good news if Jarrett is serious about growing a company with this.

I don't understand why you would hold a show like that. It always looks absolutely shit, it did when TNA did it and it does for GFW. Are there seriously no small indoor venues in Vegas that could have been lit will and actually made it look like anybody was there?

I have no idea. They seem to have booked a good few as well, which seems ridiculous. One would think it would be sensible to book one or two to test that waters rather than run a full summer tour of barren crowds. I wonder if tickets are moving faster at the other venues. Still, it seems ridiculous because only people who read wrestling news sites etc. are going to have even heard of GFW and that's not enough to fill baseball stadiums in the Deep South. If Jarrett doesn't get TV, this thing will be over before it's even started.

Good luck to Jeff Jarrett, over the past 24 hours I've seen the majority of fans poop all over GFW and have their excitement lowered for it. They don't exist until they get a TV deal, until they are on TV they are no different than any other indy show out there, their wrestlers are pretty much on most of the indy shows anyway, you're not gonna get big stars on GFW.

I could see it coming a mile off. Wrestling in 2015 just isn't as popular as it was say 10 years ago. I hope someone puts money into and they get a TV deal but only to keep people in a job. Anything that keeps wrestlers wrestling and getting a wage is good and providing for their family and it just shows the IWC for the hypocrites that they are. Most of them watch illlegally online anyway, they don't even pay for cable or satelite.

Any REAL wrestling fan, as JR says, would WANT as many wrestling companies in business as possible regardless of who the wrestlers are or how bad the creative is. This is a dying business that is on life support and needs all the help it can get. Real wrestling fans would want everyone to be in business and making money.

The only things I've really seen are discussions about the ticket sales, which seems like a perfectly legitimate thing to do after a company's first ever show.

Not because you think it has any potential to be good then?

Anything that keeps wrestlers wrestling and getting a wage is good and providing for their family and it just shows the IWC for the hypocrites that they are. Most of them watch illlegally online anyway, they don't even pay for cable or satelite.
Would that include you then? I do recall you advocating everyone just to watch on YouTube and mocking people on here for supposedly only buying Sky for WWE. So anyone who does pay is a loser and anyone who doesn't is a hypocrite I guess.

Any REAL wrestling fan, as JR says, would WANT as many wrestling companies in business as possible regardless of who the wrestlers are or how bad the creative is. This is a dying business that is on life support and needs all the help it can get. Real wrestling fans would want everyone to be in business and making money.
I don't think anyone has actually said that they want there to be less wrestling companies. One could easily argue that some have been more of a detriment to the business overall than a positive however.

EDIT: And yes, I fully acknowledge that this post is a gimmick infringement on Alexi.

You know why the business as a whole is shrinking? Because people like you don't pay. Because surprise, if people don't pay, the company makes less money and therefore has to cut budgets, production values, jobs and then people like you, who don't pay, complain that the budgets, the production values have been lost. You advocate people not paying for product they consume, you actually mock people for choosing to pay. It is people like you that are partially responsible for the shrinking of this industry.

And just so you know, you're massively undercutting your OWN DAMN ARGUMENT! You are always talking about how less people than ever are watching WWE for example, you post it at least 8 times a week. But if people are watching illegally, it is not true that the audience has shrunk by the amount you say it has. That is impossible. If Raw is getting 3.5 million on average a week for example in recorded official figures, but the majority of fans watch illegally, that means at least a further 3.5 million people are watching Raw every week, at least. By your argument, 7 million people on average are watching Raw every week. Same argument for TNA.
