So they ve basically done this so they dont have to pay them for the duration of their contract should they not get a TV deal?

To be honest I'm amazed its taken TNA this long to move away from the guaranteed money deals. For a company of their size and in their position (running zero live shows etc.) Guaranteed deals make exactly zero sense for all but the biggest stars.

They're running Bound for Glory as a ppv from a 5000 seat arena in Charlotte on October 4th.

I wish them good luck with that, as they may need it.

Not really. It's their biggest event of the year and even given their current dire straits a conservative estimate would say they're likely to draw 2-3,000 (and don't forget they have drawn up to 10,000 fans before). Those losses are more than acceptable on the hard camera side. WWE frequently runs Smackdowns and house shows with attendances lower than max, so it's not unusual.

It's a lot more of a sensible decision than booking out massive arenas and even stadiums, as they have done in the past.

Given the date it could be their last ever televised show

From the taping tonight re Grado-

Spoiler
Rockstar Spud defeated Grado in a WWE Role Play Match (Comedy match with spots most notable to WWE guys like Cena, Rock, Austin, Undertaker, Scotty 2 Hotty, and others).

I for one can't wait.

Well TNA just did a taping last night for Impact & One Night Only and all the champions didnt come out with their belts no idea why unless its a reason to cut their entrances.

I guess it's *one* way to minimise spoilers. The announcer can be dubbed on afterwards announcing them as champions. Or not.

Sadly, having your champions come out without their belts for this reason is so bush league it's actually kind of postmodern.

No idea. Seems odd to just have them appear without any championships, its not like they have a PPV coming up.

ONO may not be aired for 7-8+ months they have had them before where the champ/s come out with the belt they lost 6 months before.

Yeah that is really silly to tape something 8 months in advance.

To be fair they have had another taping and they have nothing (for TV) planed after september so he's pretty much filmed everything they need him for anyway.

TNA sources saying he wasn't on a contract and was working per appearance. His storyline was wrapped and it was never planned to be long term.

On that, I suppose he must have already filmed his exit.

So potentially the last ever TNA taping is within the next couple of days?

Will this set of tapings take them all the way to Bound for Glory?

Well they're meant to be off TV in September so I'm not entirely sure. Are they still going to try and run Impact for the international markets?

They did that for a while in 2005 where they aired Impact online in the US when they didn't have a TV deal. Not sure how much TNA make from their international TV deals or if it's enough to make doing it again financially viable.

The UK Tour was listed as a TV taping now it's just listed as a tour.
