Think it's safe to say it won't be JE double F JA double R E double T

You might be right about that actually. It would be extremely convenient timing as well since his deal expires in January and Wrestlemania isn't until April which would certainly represent a decent break and if, as he says, he's close to 100% then there's nothing to say he couldn't make a surprise appearance at Wrestlemania and start something with someone like Seth Rollins.

I doubt WWE will ever allow him to wrestle best he will get is a manager or GM role.

angle hasnt done much worth watching for a while (not to knock his ability simply to say the storylines have been dull around him)

no real loss.... he is also going to command a large fee and not likely to want a pay as you go contract.... so if dixies comments that they had moved to a new flexible lower cost business plan he is too expensive for it... he, like sting & hogan were attractive "names" more than action...

it is really funny that the current wwe is built around tna's just left! with hogan until recently appearing, sting, bully ray, devon, flair etc all filling the show... so it wasnt that tna was wrong to have them it was they didnt have the storylines for them...
with that in mind, angle saying he wouldnt sign with wwe in 2016 is a "come get me, no one will expect it" which the wwe like to have... angle on wrestlemania to upset someone's match would be a typical wwe "shock" - but as they try to make each ppv a bigger draw to maintain the 9.99 network he could be used on any ppv in that role.

it's also interesting to watch the final 3 wcw 2001 ppvs on the wwe network... it looks very much like tna... they were using the "expensive talent" and booking them off the show to reduce their costs while rushing in new cheaper names to have a show...

i still think gfw has the tv slots (they are doing "tv taping" shows yet have no tv slot!)
i still wonder why tna with seemingly no tv slot are doing "tv taping shows" other than to fill their international contracts - which of course dixie said the new business strategy was able to afford

but gfw is run like the nwa, a showpiece center but with associates who will see the gfw belt from time to time in their promotion... and if that is true... i wonder if the "new" tna actually would fit in that as an associate promotion in the gfw family.

Apparently the last episode of Impact listed by Destination America is September 16th. I don't think they've been cancelled, surely there would have been an announcement of some kind if the show was going off the air by the end of the month?

He could net himself a nice bit of cash and still be able to go back to TNA when its all done if that's what he wants.

I don't think he should be making any sort of wrestling appearance for WWE (or TNA for that matter) personally. I feel really awkward watching him wrestle.

This is TNA we're talking about.

Guess we will know soon enough with only 2 shows left.

DA havent shown scheduling further than 2 weeks but tna have listed a month of shows on DA yesterday
* Wednesday, September 16th: New “Winner Takes All” Lethal Lockdown episode

* Wednesday, September 23rd: New Impact episode

* Wednesday, September 30th: Countdown To Glory

and after that "traditional" ppv build up there is then a traditional ppv (as in ppv not impact with legacy ppv name) which may well be the big "end of season party show" or rebirth...

of course for the build up to "winner takes all" they have to look like there is a future otherwise there would be no "i wonder who wins!" on the 16th!

so will oct 4th's Bound For Glory ppv be tna's version of WCW "Greed" (the final one) or the WCW "Big Bang" (the one meant to follow Greed but never happened)

the reason for the date is it is the start of the fall season... and networks in america leave their "what we are showing this season" announcements late... so it is weirder they did not counter the rumours of taking up an option to cut short their contract rather than not announce it is in the next season... especially as "health" of a show can affect people "investing in watching a series"

The fact that they don't have ANY taping announced so far after September 30th is not a good sign regarding Impact on Destination America.

What's this TNA Gutcheck tonight on Challenge? Is it any good?

Another probable bad sign regarding TNA and Discovery is the fact that they've been dropping Impact in the countries where it started airing on Discovery-owned networks.

Hopefully I'm wrong, but it doesn't look very good.

Pardon my ignorance, but is this the worse state TNA have ever found themselves in?

Isn't it bad that TNA have been in so many bad states we have to question whether the current bad state is the worse.

In other news, GFW have cancelled a Texas show. Because Jeff Jarrett is unavailable....

saw the impact where gfw beat up drew at end of show. that segment was actually pretty darn good and reminds me what pro wrestling should be.

we need a number 2 company...without 6 sided ring preferably

The pic posted by challenge is amateur wrestlers looking for a TNA contract. So must be like tough enough

or the segment tna ran for a couple of years where they had a "gut check" competition during the show.... al snow & flair were 2 of the judges...
the most memorable loser was the "anchorman" parody character.

Thank the lord for that. If ever someone needed to get away from wrestling its Kurt Angle. It isn't however the most confidence inspiring news for TNA. I will say if TNA is dead then the guy I feel sorry for is EC3. He's really grown into something pretty great and is just hitting his stride with this character I think and it seems unlikely he or it would resurface in WWE at this point (sadly).

Its probably worth remembering that there were a lot of reports during Angle's last round of talks with TNA that WWE were interested in bringing him back until they found out just how bad his health was. There were apparently concerns that he wouldn't pass the medical tests they require of all active talent (this same testing shut down a mooted Foley return to work an angle with Dean Ambrose) and so they shut down talks with him. I've not seen much from Angle's time in TNA since then that would suggest his physical condition has miraculously recovered which is a shame because I'm a massive Angle fan but watching him run himself into the ground for years (and not just in TNA) has been incredibly sad to say the least.

Whats so great about EC3? He seems a mid mediocre in the ring and wasent entertained by his matches at all. TNA must be really scrapping at the barrel if hes Champion.

Hopefully they announce a TV taping as going off everything I've read, they haven't actually got any TV taped for this show. Maybe they will tape at one of the tour dates.

Is this thread failing in its at least 3 year effort to get rid of TNA yet again?

EC3 is easily the best part of TNA and has been for some time (low bars and all that maybe but still). His in-ring work isn't amazing but he's one of those guys in pro-wrestling right now who has just hit the sweet spot with his character and is pretty much constantly entertaining because of it. He should absolutely be the TNA Champion.
