What will happen to Jeff this year to keep him off TV for a few months?

I wish they would tape stuff proper.

We didnt need Divas in the title tournament nor did we need people who dont even work for TNA or the whole we cant have Matt as World champ cos we dont have anything taped.

Thought his leg was better?

Anyway his contract is up soon and it sounds like he doesn't want to resign.

Wonder where that leaves Matt as TNA only hired him to keep Jeff sweet.

Apparently he needs knee surgery that will keep him out 6 months plus, but may work the January 5th-9th tapings in a knee brace. He said on Flair's podcast his contract with TNA ends on 28th February, and implied he wasn't going to sign again.

Yeah, they will need a miracle if they are to get back to their best!

they are about to start yet another year on another channel...
you have to give them that. they could have gone out of biz (and the wrestle websites often said they were days from closing) long ago.

i wish them luck... but what they must not do is have the same people in the crowd standing in the same place for each episode when they record 3 weeks tv in one go...
and they really need to feed the youtube etc channels with daily 1 minute updates... easily done by wrestlers with their selfie video modes from anywhere to keep it feeling "live"

Is it really a good look to make it seem like you need a miracle to help your television debut rate well?

Looking forward to the reboot on challenge on Sunday. It'll probably be two hobos fighting in a deserted airport departure lounge, but I'm still glad TNA survives in some form.

Does anyone remember that mass brawl they had outside of the building the last time they changed channels?

Yeah that was fun. TBH I think that kind of thing is the direction they need to go. NXT has the 'pure' indie-style wrestling angle all sewn up.

I just think any wrestling company that focuses on the wrestling is just a waste of time which is what TNA did after their run of New York tapings for the first time, John Gaburick said the fans have spoken and they told us they want wrestling and that's what we will give them.

And they lost 75% of their audience. If the show's just gonna be full of matches then it will never improve because the only people that will sit and watch it are wrestling fans and there's simply not enough wrestling fans in America to make enough money from it. Similar issue WWE has which I'll explain there. Lucha Underground are the only company doing anything differently.

Well now that Wrestletalk is finally gone from Challenge who knows how long TNA has.

Wrestletalk will actually be on Sky One Saturday mornings from 9am soon.

Pretty big step up and also once again completely destroys the rumours that the almighty WWE has some kind of stranglehold on Sky own channels and wont let any other wrestling on them lol.

TNA launched to 255,000 viewers for the first, first run, episode on POP.

Dixie better not have actually told POP that she believed that, in the end, they'll do higher numbers than their 1.3 million Spike peak, because if so they are in trouble.

It all comes down to money. The same reason why they only reached a certain amount of viewers on Spike, TNA just don't have the kind of money needed to advertise their brand and company and make sure people know about them, they just don't have it and that's what is needed. Many people, especially casual fans wont know TNA even exist.

TNA's highest ever audience was 2.2 million so there are at least that number of people that know about TNA. I'd say there are more than that 2.2 million that know about TNA's existence.

TNA is owned by a billion dollar company, the idea that the money isn't there isnt true. Of course the issue is they don't want to spend it so Panda Energy just let it limp along.

I'm sure not even Dixie would be naive to tout that to a new TV company who surely wouldn't buy it after seeing Destination America ratings.

It's a good rating because from what I've read, POP is primarily a female orientated channel. II believe it's lead in is a soap repeat, and despite being in more homes than DA, POP actually has a lower primetime average audience.

TNA had money thrown at it for years and it didn't pay off. I'm glad Panda / Dixie have decided to keep it ticking over despite the fact I'm convinced it must still lose money, albeit a lot less than it was losing in the Hogan / Bischoff / Spike era.

The internet hates on Dixie but without her there wouldn't be a TNA. It's that simple.

It is a bit of cheaply done show, but I quite like it, if only for the amount of English wrestling shows that they sometimes show.

Yeah because they were throwing money at WWE stars and failed to develop their own. I'm not saying they should throw more money at it either, I'm just saying it's simply not true that Panda Energy doesn't have the money to put into it.

Yeah, I definitely agree that TNA should have pushed, spent money on and protected their own stars above all else. It's what Vince does, and it works.

I think they were trying to imitate WCW, who basically imported most of the WWE roster in 1994 - 1997. It got WCW temporarily ahead of WWE, but how did WWE respond? They built new stars, who ended up eclipsing the guys WCW poached. That's how you do it!
