tonights show in the states might have "a big" signing.... (rolling stone magazine says at least)... perhaps it is part of that
if it is as the rumours suggest (i am not going to spoil it) then i can think of several ways he can be used to keep up the stoylines and momentum... what TNA must not do is their usual "one in one out" model... which just means the "i wonder who will be lined up next in the feud" goes out the window as there just isnt any options left... a bit like the knock outs... there are so few of them, the potential "mix it up" just doesnt exist... and when a new one joins, one has left, so the match up are the same pattern with just a different name in them. |

Billy Corgan now has the job title President of TNA, Dixie Carter is Chairman of TNA.
Presumably Corgan is now in charge of creative. |

Aron Rex performed well on the mic.
The Hardys are still entertaining with the broken matt, brother neo stuff... the mad composer character & weird pronunciations work as a mid card comedy gimmick filler... |

I just realized, if they have an MMA rules belt, they need the greatest fighter of all time back- come here kid, I can break this ankle in two!

I've only just watched the Storm/Lashley match on Challenge.
Anyone know why there were several places where ridiculous-looking spurious shots of the audience had been cut in during important parts of the action, presumably to hide something?

A situation to follow for TNA is what is happening in India.
Sony Six has just bought all the portfolio of channels owned by Zeel, aka all the Ten Sports channels. Ten Sports owns the rights to WWE (which is often the most watched program on the channel other than India cricket), which is far more watched than TNA. It's not a given that they'll have to make a choice between WWE and TNA but, if such choice is gonna be made, obviously TNA is the one who will be ditched with heavy consequences for the company, as you might imagine. Again, it's not a given that this will happen but it's a situation that should be followed. |

Also worth noting TNA's UK ratings have been in the toilet for months, the last Impact to be watched by more than 100,000 people here was on May 24th. |

The reason for that is it's a wrestling show. When you put a wrestling show on all you're gonna get is wrestling fans watching it.
When you give people a TV show with characters and storylines all of a sudden you get more people watching because that's what most people want to watch on their TV, they want characters and stories just like any other TV show or film. You put wrestling on for 2 hours, the only people that are gonna watch it are wrestling fans. |

sky have both tna & wwe in the uk so... the india thing... doesnt have to make any difference if sony run the channels as competing rather than shared resources.
tna on sky's challenge channel & wwe on sky sports play on two very differently tasked parts of skys differentiated platform offering. you know sony own a few channels in the uk too... movies for men, movie mix, sony channel uk, pop, true drama, true entertainment, scuzz etc... but you don't see them cross promote on all of them |

broken hardy & brother nero continue to show a gimmick that would work on the WWE and sell millions of t-shirts! it is a proper wcw/wwf era character story rather than the "everyone has to be a reality tv character" that fills wwe at the moment.
decay is also a very wcw era style group.... wwe has the wyatts still but that is about it in this class of character. they also work well and also would have shifted every kind of branded lunch box / pencil case if it was in the wwe. the show only really suffers from it being made in the same studio so every week looks like the week before |

talking of "same studio making every show look the same" - which as they are batch recorded they very nearly are all the same day.....
the ONO ppv last saturday.... what was with the lighting!!! was it "dark crowd" some matches / "lit crowd" some matches to hide the crowd was not the same for every match? did they record the matches out of order on different days and thus used the lighting to help stop the continuity issues ?

I agree about the setting of the TNA shows being a problem, I'm sure it's often obvious that it's the same audience over several weeks!
WWE looks live and in real time, even when it isn't, TNA often looks like a show made up from bits and pieces recorded over a long period and then stitched together. I also don't like it when the commentators are obviously not actually there at the matches, and the commentary has been dubbed on later after it's all been edited. I completely agree with the current Hardys gimmick, and Decay. They're both being performed really well by everyone concerned, and would have look right at home in the old WWF/WCW! What's happened with the Bram and Rosemary angle BTW? Has it just been quietly dropped for no apparent reason? It never seemed to come to any conclusion!

true but as you said, sony bought additional channels... and so could keep tna and sky on different channels just as sky does with it's showing of tna & wwe over it's channels. i don't know enough of who is the more guarded over exclusivity... eurosport in some european markets (ex uk) showed tna and they also have had the rights to some wwe shows (ex uk) which suggests the strength of the exclusive deals sky insists on rather than the wwe/tna perhaps

as for last weekends show...
decay & broken hardy/brother nero story is still funny. the other matches were good... and frankly, again, if they were set in a different location like the wwe does each week (although those arenas are all starting to look the same) |

Makes me smile too!
