One thing I would disagree with, don't keep the Impact Zone. It's dead, I understand the cost thing of multi-episode tapings but find another venue.
I don't know why, and obviously if this is all true, Corgan and Jarrett don't do a deal with Carter out of the picture. Global Force has stalled and with a new logo and look, could have a half decent brand. But they also have partnerships with companies all over the world which could benefit Corgan and a lot of potential roster members.”
I think if they had full control over it then they could paint the building or do it up to look differently. Of course I don't know how many of the people there are really there to see TNA wrestling and how many are there just for a day out.
If it was me doing it and I'll just use this country as an example, i'd be looking at old abandoned retail parks. Retail parks that maybe 10 years ago had a lot of big shops in them but they've went out of business, like a big furniture store or Ikea or even a building that was a supermarket. Like an old Tesco or Asda, one of the big 24 hour hour ones with the high ceilings and I'd try and get a building like that cheap and own it and once you own it, you don't need to worry about paying rent for it or it being closed on certain days.
After that I'd have the walls inside painted. Doesn't need to be done professionally, just people willing to work hard. I'd have the flooring inside spotless. Put the ring in, fill it with folding chairs, you might only get 1000 or 1500 seats inside but that's all you need. I'd have it look completely different to any other wrestling show and filmed differently. As for extra income I would have part of the building sectioned off so that a few wrestlers that stayed locally could work there during the week teaching people to wrestle and that way if there's good local talent you can hire them and put them no your shows. I'd have another part of the building be a welcome area with tables and chairs and let fans talk to each other inside before any shows. I'd do all the t shirts and merch locally and get it done at good prices. I would have a food van outside selling hot and cold drinks and burgers and chips and that would be another way of getting income. Everything bringing in extra money.
And once that's done I'd be going round every local radio station, every TV station, all the big bloggers from the city, giving out invites and free passes to the first few shows. Have the whole building lit up outside like they do at the circus, make sure everyone driving past or walking past sees it and I would run it as business that way, everything is all done under one roof, you do the wrestling, you do the teaching, you do the food and drinks, you do it all and then you build your fanbase up to where you can travel and do shows on the road.
Jeff might want to do a deal with him but then Billy has to wonder is Jeff using him just to get a TV deal or is it a true partnership? They would have to work together and talent exchanges should be the way wrestling works anyway. They should all be able to borrow talent and who's to say Jeff isn't doing that just now, he could already be pitching GFW to Pop TV, he already has shows filmed, he's already one step ahead of Billy Corgan in that sense.
