Is it possible that AJ wanted to revert back to his old character? Maybe he wasn't a fan of it and considering he's currently in contract negotiations with TNA he may have requested a change.

Are we even sure AJ is a member of the MEM also? From what Tenay was saying on Impact he was there to help the MEM and hasn't officially joined them.

And with the way the A&8's are looking currently, is there a need for the MEM anymore. Apart from Bully Ray and Anderson to an extent, the A&8's don't exactly look like a huge threat to TNA. Garrett Bischoff and Wes Brisco haven't exactly done much since joining and neither has Knux really. It appears TNA may be looking into dissolving the A&8's and doing it by having Bully lose the title at BFG would probably be the best way to do this.

With AJ of course winning the title.

So apparently they are scrapping the rest of the BFG Series. Each guy should wrestle 11 matches in the series, but they are fast running out of time before Bound For Glory and guys have only wrestled 4-6 times each. So they will do 4 more BFG matches on the next Impact then just have the top 4 face each other on Impact to decide what the 1 on 1 BFG Series Final match is at the PPV.

What a joke this company is.

That's surely partly caused by the missing monthly PPV's which always had loads of BFG matches and the fact that until last week they weren't having BFG matches on Xplosion as well, that sort of thing mounts up.

Usually with a face turn you get what you see. The Phenomenal AJ Styles would definitely be the kind of person to join MEM.

As far as AaE goes, they just added Tito and Brooke, hardly runnning it down their numbers are increasing.

What's bugging me is the vanishing acts, sure we all know Curt Angle is "indisposed" but the vanishing Brooke Hogan, Dlo Brown, Luke Gallows etc all of which were involved in the main storyline is not the best.

The problem with pro wrestling tournaments over such a time frame is loads of plot holes usually emerge, that's even assuming you get the man you want to win- presumably AJ Styles in this case- over. Which they didn't.

The BFG series clearly wants to be the New Japan G1 climax, but that is held over 2 weeks, and is massively over and has a history going back to 1974. The BFG series.. is not the G1.

I like TNA as much as the next person. I know any buisness has to make tough decisions in order to well stay in buisness.

I have to wonder how much going on the road and the loss of so much PPV revenue has hurt them.

I doubt we'd ever find out TNA were in difficulties officially, until the day the company folds.

As long as Spike is willing to pay for it I'd guess it'll exist, though it does seem taking Impact on the road was a mistake.

It does seem to be a mess, Bischoff insisting yesterday that Hogan had no deal with 2k games, and WWE just put Hogan in their video game off their own backs, is pretty funny.

Im wondering about the wrestlers given contracts who we never see, the gut check winners who simply vanish and the British Bootcamp winner for example.

Have these guys been released? Seems odd to be releasing talent and not have these guys fill the void.

Also leaving Russo in charge would've meant more pandering to the IWC surely if you look back at his nonsensical WCW tenure and all the confusing crap that went on there.

It may have been exciting to the IWC fan but to the casual audience who still watched WCW they were watching a TV show that made no sense and was illogical at times hence they left in their droves.

His shows were (for the most part) confusing because storylines started and ended abruptly, storylines were forgotton about the following week as were rules and stipulations and let's not get into the shoot segments with Nash/Hogan etc.

You cannot be so haphazard with your booking because basic common sense and logical storylines should take precedance - the fact that fans were getting "confused because they can only comprehend old school rasslin shows" still means he was doing something wrong and the product suffered.

Russo did some good things but it was widely agreed that he needed a filter like Vince McMahon to keep him in check.

If ratings went up fine - but did that = more money when there was a ppv? did house show attendance rise? was money made at all? I don't think so - Russo needed to do all this as well as pick up the ratings.

Anyways the fact that Russo garners so much debate still is a testament to the impact he had in WCW good or bad.

you talk about haphazard booking but wcw eas messed up,wrestlers refused to do jobs etc or walked out, in wwe he did not have that. russo books long term, his 3 month booking of nwo reformation was amazing, noone does that nowadays.

You're right, the G1 Climax is booked well, the BFGS clearly is not. It wasn't booked properly the first year (when Russo was still around), it was done properly last year (even though they ****ed their storylines at the end with Hardy winning tournament and title) and this year is a complete mess. Not that it makes a difference nowadays given the state TNA is but just don't do it if you can't keep track of it and treat it correctly.

Not that I have watched much of either in years, after reading the low attendance figures, ratings, WWE taking the talent etc. Not really a solution, but should TNA and ROH just merge?

It's a 3 month extension, not a new contract. He's pretty much staying around for Bound for Glory and a bit later. Wonder if they'll put the belt on him to convince him to sign for longer like they did with Hardy.

Safe to say AJ Styles after his stirring speech in this ep will win the 20 point Gauntlet BFG match next week which Hogan made up from nowhere, will make the last four and then win to go onto BFG and will become World Champion since by then the hammer wielding Aces and Eights will have totally fallen apart by then.

I still think the BFG series is a good concept but it needs much better organisation. It's an original idea and ensures there are big matches on Impact every week, although the issue of burn-out is a big one. Why not bring back an original TNA concept like King of the Mountain?

Everyone has already faced everyone on Impact. There are few, if any, 'dream matches' left. The succubus that is the A&E has ensured that there is no room for standard feuds and storylines, meaning that everything not in the stable feud or title picture gets left behind. The X-Division has suffered more than any, the stop/start pushes are getting sad.

I desperately don't want to see TNA go under. I want to see Dixie sell them to a promoter who has a passion for the business and knows what they are doing. Dixie is too nice a person and Russo is 100% right, she has all the wrong people in her ear.
