and that's the most ridiculous thing about all of this.

in the "real" world, he most likely has walked away over money issues and TNA may have realised he wasn't kidding when he said he'd let his contract expire so are now reaching out to discuss a new deal.

in the world of the average wrestling fan who wants to one-up the next one with "insider" knowledge, they won't believe a word of it and will insist it's a "work" or "kayfabe".

but then i suppose that's the nature of the business really ..
im not trying to one up anyone and i could be wrong

i just think you are falling for this when it is par tof the storyline. did you think cm punk was gonna leave WWE as champion too?

p.s ironic you say that as i have not read any dirtsheets for over a decade so you probably have more info on this than me, i am just going with my gut feeling upon hearing of this.

TNA executive Andy Barton has been putting about that they are more successful than WWE in both Germany and UK because they get more viewers

Whilst I accept it's his job to big them up, what he failed to mention is that whilst WWE airs on pay TV in both countries, TNA is on free to air TV. He also fails to recognise that whilst, for example week ending December 1st, IMPACT got 179,000 at 9pm on a Sunday night on free TV, RAW got 130,000 at 1am Tuesday morning on pay TV.

Why can't they be a little bit careful with what they say, it makes them look stupid in the long run
So are you say wwe is the nuunber one wresting company in the UK?

I wasn't addressing you specfically.

But it's been a feature of the twenty plus years i've been following wrestling overall. Everyone who writes for a dirtsheet is now a "reporter" when all they really ever do is re-hash stuff they've seen on other sites and try to claim an "exclusive".

And since you asked, no I didn't think CM Punk was going to leave the WWF as champion since it was a re-hash of the "Summer of Punk" angle they ran in ECW.

But then you're still going with "kayfabe" or "work" as your "gut feeling" because you're a wrestling fan and in wrestling, legitimate contractual disputes don't apparently exist ..

thats why i stopped following dirt sheets, its all too negative

contract disputes exist, but reports of a wrestler leaving when his contract is up whilst in a storyline where is contract is up?...........i am calling shenanigans.

BREAKING NEWS from Dixie Carter on Twitter: "I've decided to tape two episodes of TNA IMPACT WRESTLING in Manchester, England on January 31. Got important business to take care of that night. Don't miss it."

This huge double TV taping will replace the previously announced ONE NIGHT ONLY event. We'll have full UK and Ireland Tour details very soon.
Interesting news.

He is not promoted for it, which storyline aside, you need AJ advertised. He is a very big draw, along with Hardy and Sting, their biggest draw, speaking of which, are Hardy and Sting advertised?

no idea, i just assume by saying dixie has business to sort out it will regard AJ and an undisputed title match down the line look pretty obvious.

Sting and Hardy are not on the UK tour. Jeff can't come because of his convictions; don't know why Sting's a no show as he's always good value.

Just looked at the promo posters for the tour which has Bully Ray, Storm & Gunner and - what?? - Manik as the headline acts. Really? Manik?
And he's listed above Roode, Aries, Joe and Sabin, and most surprisingly for a UK tour, above Magnus!

Jesus, that lineup is so weak. Wheres Sting, wheres Kurt Angle? Wheres Abyss? Wheres Velvet? Wheres AJ STYLES?! No Jeff Hardy? But most importantly, wheres ACES AND EIGHTS??!!!!

The camera work during the previous couple of weeks' episodes did hint that it might be Chavo who would get fired.

The whisper-in-the-wind off the top of the cage by Jeff Hardy was excellent.

I still say EC3 has become the highlight of the shows for me. He looks great, sounds good and is already getting involved in some interesting storylines. His "one-percenter" finisher is funny when the victim sells it properly. That fool Sting is looking to get himself clobbered with it.

http://www.impactwrestling.com/news/...World-Champion

London (Monday December 23, 2013): TNA IMPACT WRESTLING star Magnus has become the first ever Brit to win the World Heavyweight Championship for a major American wrestling organisation, ending a wait of more than 108 years.
magnus2Magnus (former TV Gladiator Nick Aldis from King's Lynn, Norfolk) beat Jeff Hardy for the vacant TNA World Heavyweight Championship in a gripping tournament final.
His victory was broadcast to millions of people in more than 120 countries, including on Challenge TV in the UK and Ireland on Sunday December 22, 2013.
Magnus will bring his newly-won championship home when he visits five arenas around Britain and Ireland on the TNA MAXIMUM IMPACT VI Tour in January/February 2014.
He said: “It is truly an honour and a privilege to be the new TNA World Heavyweight Champion. I'm looking forward to bringing the title belt back to where it all started for me. It's something I've always dreamed of doing.
“It's also important to represent all the people in the UK wrestling business that helped me get to this point, and hopefully show the young British talent that there is no glass ceiling; you can be a top guy!”
Magnus’ title win ends one the longest waits in British sporting history, which began when Russian George Hackenschmidt beat American Tom Jenkins on May 4, 1905 to become wrestling’s first widely regarded World Heavyweight Champion.
The victory puts Magnus alongside Tour De France winner Bradley Wiggins (109 years), boxing’s former Undisputed World Heavyweight Champion Lennox Lewis (100 years), Wimbledon men’s singles victor Andy Murray (77 years) and 1980 men’s 100 metres Olympic Gold Medallist Alan Wells (56 years).
Wrestling historian and author John Lister said: “While the likes of the legendary British Bulldog, William Regal, Wade Barrett and Doug Williams have all had great success in America, they've fallen short in their challenges for the World Heavyweight Championship.
“It's a great achievement for Magnus to become the No1 wrestler in a globally televised promotion and also shows how important the British audience is to TNA.
“For decades it seemed impossible that we would ever see a British man win Wimbledon, hold a World Heavyweight Championship for a major wrestling company or lift the World Cup again. With two down in the same year, perhaps it's an omen for next summer in Rio!”
As well as a successful career inside the wrestling ring, Magnus has also found fame in a variety of different fields – including as Oblivion on Sky One’s Gladiators, the co-host of hit Challenge TV series UK’s Strongest Man, a popular Christmas pantomime regular at the Norwich Theatre Royal and a columnist for Fighting Spirit Magazine.
Fans can see Magnus as part of the huge TNA MAXIMUM IMPACT VI Tour, which will also feature global wrestling stars Kurt Angle, Bully Ray, Mr Anderson, Bobby Roode, Samoa Joe, Austin Aries, James Storm, Gunner, Christopher Daniels, Kazarian, Rockstar Spud, Ethan Carter III, Robbie E. Jessie Godderz, Zema Ion, Joseph Park, Eric Young, Chris Sabin, Sam Shaw, Gail Kim, ODB, Velvet Sky, Lei'd Tapa and Madison Rayne.
Ticket are on sale now via www.gigsandtours.com/go/tnafan, www.ticketmaster.co.uk or www.facebook.com/tnawrestlinguk. Full details of the UK and Ireland events are:
Wednesday 29 January 2014 Dublin National Stadium 0818 719 300
Thursday 30 January 2014 Glasgow The SSE Hydro 0844 811 0051
Friday 31 January 2014 Manchester Phones 4u Arena 0844 847 8000
Saturday 01 February 2014 London Wembley Arena 0844 815 0815
Sunday 02 February 2014 Birmingham NIA 0844 338 8000
TNA IMPACT WRESTLING is broadcast every Sunday night at 9pm on Challenge TV and is the UK’s most watched wrestling show
Well it about time.

What had he been doing in the background, as he hasn't been on TV in years?

Perhaps a mystery entrant in the Rumble!

So are you say wwe is the nuunber one wresting company in the UK?
Of course they are. More viewers (combined over programming) more tours, higher crowds, merchandising sales, tv rights etc

He was Vice President of the company. Obviously it's only what websites say but he had more of a role since Bischoff got sent home and the departures of Hogan and Bruce Prichard.

I wonder whether he will keep the 29% of the company he owns or whether it will be sold to the Carters

The official statement does say "..look forward to his continued participation as an investor in TNA Wrestling" which suggests he will keep his share.

Pretty major news either way though. I doubt we'll get to hear a reason as he's certainly not going to sh*t on the company he helped create and still holds shares in.
