I see Challenge are showing the very first Episode on TNA Wrestling from 2002 from 9.15 this evening, should be interesting.
It will most likely put to shame the current product, which is the real tragedy here.

Yeah, that TNA had Cheex, the Johnsons (Rod and Richard) aka the Human Penises and other garbage, so that really says a lot

TNA Wrestling on The Mall (sky 682), at 8:30pm Sunday. I guess they're trying to flog TNA DVDs/Figures etc.....

Interesting to see what they're selling, and how they try to sell it!

I have seen them before on there, it is usually t-shirts, DVDs and combos of them etc, a bit expensive I think, but I suppose it is good to have somewhere to get TNA stuff.

Was this before the Red Shirt Security?

Also the women in cages was fun for a while!

Do they have much, or any success at that?

It seems unlikely. Surely people who watch/buy for the shopping channels (especially a channel very high up in channel count, an unknown almost) won't be purchasing TNA merchandise?

Watched the first ever episode of TNA, who on earth thought it was a good idea for the Johnson twins to wear those weird suits And what happened to the guy at the end who was one on one with Shamrock. Thought he looked pretty good (better then the usual big tall guys)

Couple of good moments on Impact on Sunday, Sting having a go at Spud 'didn't you come here to be a professional wrestler?'

And Jeff Hardy losing his shit and putting his hand round Spud's throat 'Enough!' he genuinely looked pissed off.

I'm liking Spud's character at the moment, doing a good job of pissing people off and he's someone people can push around, literally (can't rally do that with Dixie, well you could but there'd be complaints)

The guy brawling with Shamrock was Malice, formerly The Wall from WCW. He died in 2003.
The Johnsons, as the name suggests, are a gimmick based on penis innuendos. The two brothers are called "Rod" and "Richard" (i guess they couldn't say "Dick", that would have been too obvious), their first promo was, and i quote: "We're pricks. We are proud. And we are protruding!!!". Thankfully that lasted like 2 weeks and then they reappeared in WWE as the Gymini.

Thanks for the info, another wrestler dying too young,

ROH is an indie company, plenty of TNA wrestlers have taken indie bookings in the past. doesn't mean aj has gone.

once again i stress i am open to being wrong on this aj contract situation just pointing out that the above means nothing.

He's gonna be on their tv show, available nationally on Sinclair. Previously TNA wrestlers have done indys but their matches were either not on tv or cut from iPPVs and DVDs. This is not the case for AJ being in ROH, and he's gonna be there for additional dates. We'll see, but all signs seem to point to him being out of TNA for good and not coming back anytime soon, especially now that Jarrett is gone.

as i said i am not saying i am 100% right, and that is interesting information to say the least.

i just feel that jason feels i dont believe AJ has gone because im a typical wrestling fan, thus my post on the matter. it didnt add up to me, but roh tv changes things.

epic fail for TNA if true, they have not mentioned aj on last episode,it was all about magnus so maybe its true.

but they could be building a undisputed title match for long term, say over 3-6 months

if aj is on roh tv with the belt then we will have our answer, without it and TNA will be a laughing stock.

How about from the horse's mouth ?

How negotiations with TNA have broken down but he's still on TNA programming: "Well, it seems that the dirt sheets are way off on this one. How many times did you hear that I was signed with TNA and now I'm not signed with TNA? They're way off on this thing. They've been all over and then there's people saying, 'Oh, it's a work, it's a work.' Because they don't want to be fooled and they are not going to admit when they are wrong when I haven't signed a contract. I don't know man, it's just--it's been a crazy time for me, these couple of weeks. And I don't want you guys to think that I'm mad at TNA, cause I'm not. I'm not bitter towards them. I don't hate them. I hope they do well. I got a lot of good friends that wrestle there and I hope that it's successful. It was just an opportune time for me to take an opportunity to go wrestle somewhere else, where I may not have that opportunity again. And that's basically what this has come down to. And I left the door open for TNA and I hope they continue to leave the door open, that you know maybe sometime in the future, I will be back. But that I don't know and like I said, I left the door open."

Styles on people saying his TNA status is a work: "Well, I mean, and I can understand why people want to believe that it is a work. Because they don't want to; first of all I'm sure they don't want to believe that I'm actually not working for TNA. Second, I told them that I didn't have a contract in the first place. Cause I didn't. I had an extension. So I understand why they might believe it's a work, and why it's hard to believe but it's even hard for me to believe. That after working with a company for 11 years, and busting your tail and doing what you thought was right and doing it to the best of your ability that it would even come down to a negotiation where it would take a long time or anything like that. I just figured that we'd find a way. And the timing, you know it just had me where I had to make a decision. I had to do something and I just figured that this is an opportunity and I need to take it."

If WWE does come to Spike TV in October 2014, then inevitably TNA is dead. With Jarrett calling it quits and AJ Styles leaving the company it makes you wonder how likely this scenario is. If WWE are allowed on Viacom and NBC Universal channels, they could have WWE NXT in the Impact slot drawing the same number of viewers and Smackdown on a Friday drawing double that.

Ironically, should TNA lose its TV deal and die, by my estimation its existence will have been approximately the same as WCW's - 12.5 years.

Observer says no one knows at present if it's a work.

If he turns up to the UK tour, it was a work, if he doesn't it wasn't.

That would make ZERO sense though if you follow the storyline, without giving away spoilers.

You expect TNA to make sense?

They've got another years worth of road tapings that they were apparently losing $600,000 a time on last year, and the Carters clearly have had enough of the losses. Will TNA survive? Who knows.
