In memory of wildmovieguy, it might be best to discuss the Lockdown PPV in the TNA spoiler thread.

Whatever happened to wildmovieguy? I remember he kept getting banned for being a TNA fan and writing long posts that nobody really bothered to read, was a shame that the mods kept banning him any time somebody hit 'alert'.

The Alomodome can be changed about to seat anything from 1.000 to 60.000 so it can compete with the other arenas in the area. Also you only pay for the size you want.
Yeah, but you still pay more than running another small arena, because of the prestige and the fact that they have to let you run a small part of the building instead of the full configuration. All I'm saying is: why did they HAVE to run San Antonio knowing the only place available was the Alamodome? Go somewhere else, fill the building (and not do 7-8,000 out of 70,000), make it look good on tv and save money. It's smart business.

I have see lockdown and it looks amazing the crowd are hot, and it was a legit sellout! And they do a full scan of the arena with the camera, which they don't normally do, you never see the hard camera side.

You could clearly see they weren't using the full building. It looked good on camera (it wasn't a sellout, they sold well but it wasn't sold out) but TNA couldn't do miracles.

I think he just got annoyed at getting banned all the time, so just left.

Yeah, he's a picture from the event. You can see where they have curtained off.

I have seen 10.000 reported so if it wasnt a sellout it must of been really close.

So we're off and running and I have to ask does anybody know why they use the disabled access ring?

No idea, but they used the ramp often lately.

Nice to see D-Von has forgiven Bully Ray for everything he did to his sons last year.

It must have cost a lot for TNA to hire a building of that size. Isn't there a smaller arena in San Antonio which WWE use when they do TV tapings in that city?

Didn't they mention the very high ceiling, maybe there was a problem with hanging a massive roof over the crowd.

Unless they were already planning the A&Es that far back, it would mean everything that has happened in the last 2 year make some kind of sense, there is some form of forward thinking going on, they introduced the 3 man announce team a good 3 months before Taz joined the A&E's and Bully Ray has been trying to gain Hulks trust since long before Bound for Glory, the marriage think just made that secure.

The Xdivision match and the Tag Team one were amazing.

I'm sure i read something a while back which said that TNA was planned 18months to 2 years ahead currently, but that is open to frequent changes based on Contracts, injuries and people going over etc. It was around the time of talk about John Morrison coming to TNA, and apparently when he didn't sign they slipped someone else into his story, so it is quite flexible. Will try and dig out the article.

I believe when you hire the AD you only pay for the size you want so they will not have paid the the full 60.000 seat price.

6,700 seems to be the attendance quoted in this weeks Observer at press time. TNA had sold more than 4,000 tickets the night before the show.

Yeah, they would have got a cheap rate as they did with the some of the other buildings they've ran for PPV's over the last few years.

A master debater. Lots of what he wrote made great sense, and he always loved an argument. Miss the poster.

My thoughts on Lockdown:
Crowd looked good, took them a while to warm up though.
The Bully turn was good, I thought it wasn't going to happen at one point.
Zema Ion really should of won the X-Division title.
I heard reports of TNA putting plants in the crowd to start the trash throwing, I don't believe for one second that TNA would tell people to throw glass bottles into the ring, it was quite scary at times, it used to happen a lot on Nitro but that was paper and drink cups not glass bottles, WCW actively tried to stop the throwing eventually as it got silly.

TNA seems like they're building momentum, it feels special, if they nail the Chicago show tonight then 2013 could be an excellent year for TNA.

Talking of the 3 man announce team, they have gotten better together since Tazz's heel turn.
