Well really, it shouldn't matter if there was one person in the audience or one thousand or 100 thousand, they should put in the same standard of performance, for the one person who has paid to see them perform, or the 100 thousand.

I know what you mean Jason, not all house shows are badly attended, but this picture shows a terribly thin audience in a venue that looks like it could hold ten times the number of attendees. I'm not trying to bash TNA, but however you look at it that's a serious miscalculation on TNA's part in booking the right venue for the right probable audience.
Worst of all it must be terribly demoralising for the wrestlers to come out and perform to so many empty seats. |

Not sure about watching tonight's Impact. Some of it looks good and some looks pretty bad. I actually think that TNA's booking is good apart from the main event scene. The Aries/Sabin feud, Angle/Roode feud and Bully/Anderson feud have all been well booked. The Gunner/Storm stuff is decent too because the winner should be in line for a solid push afterwards.
If they just curb the Dixie stuff and bring in a couple of fresh faces, they'll be going well. |

Interesting reading AJ Styles' indie schedule. A lot of it appears to be at weekends - Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
He's got a date on the 15th of Feb where he teams with Amazing Red against the Young Bucks - there's a PPV match if you ever wanted one ![]() He's also booked for a UK Appearance in March the 1st as well. |

Watched most of the show tonight. I missed the first half hour, which was apparently just a big Dixie promo. Like I said before, the whole show beneath the main event is good. But how many times has TNA done Sting vs heel stable?
In fact, I think I saw it somewhere that it had been calculated that there has been a heel stable on top of TNA more often than not throughout their whole existence. Ironic that their last two really good years were 2012 and the end of 2009, where stables weren't really the focus. |

I wonder who the investor will be. Jarrett would be a decent swerve. Or maybe Sting.
I can see us getting Dixie's team vs Investor's team in Leathal Lockdown to hopefully blow off the feud and end this faction stuff for a few years. Magnus needs a chance to hold the belt for himself to give him main event credibility. I guess he'll fight Hardy at Lockdown. Or maybe Kurt. |

Not sure about that one. I suppose it's not bad but I'm not sure that I see the point.

It might just be that TNA are wanting a surprise more than some guy that makes logical sense.

That's pretty typical of their thinking.

Caught Impact last night and quite enjoyed it.
* Noticeably larger ringside area this week; gives the talent more space to work. So glad to see that the disability ramp is gone for good. Man that thing looked stupid, and made a lot of spots needlessly awkward. * Say what you want about Dixie and Spud; they draw nuclear heat. Spud's opening promo was vintage heel work of the first degree. * Impact still benefits from being outside Universal Studios. The Huntsville crowd were loud and involved, and it added a lot to the show. * TNA can book a fun 12 man tag. Joe looked like a beast, as he should. And that's the first time in a while we've seen a Knockout pull a proper, big move on a male wrestler. More of this, please. * Sing's mic work was gold all night. Angry, passionate and sending the crowd wild. I still really wish he could lose the T-shirt. * You know what I really miss? Putting a little ident on the screen when a wrestler wins a championship. You know, just a little graphic under a shot of Rayne with the title, saying: "New Knockout's Champion: Madison Rayne". It's a small thing, but small things matter. * I thought there was some rusty ringwork in the Anderson / Bully match. Other than that it was a decent hardcore effort which furthered the feud. I hoped Anderson really would set the table on fire. Nothing like a bit of fire for the highlight reel. * I'm not a fan of seeing Aries talk about pigeons, and I don't find a supposed face trying to undermine another guy's relationship very sympathetic. And this from a guy who already has a hard time coming across as likable. It's also a great shame that the X division currently seems to consist of two guys. This angle would benefit from Aries or Sabin fighting somebody new - maybe just somebody on a single appearance contract - to get them over a little more as the supposed elite of X div wrestlers. * Magnus is at least walking and talking like a champ, and he deserves credit for that. For me, he comes across naturally as the entitled, somewhat insecure heel. I found his face persona whiny. Of course, he hasn't earned the championship by a long shot, and TNA have the good sense to write that into the character. That said, it's important that we see him put in a good shift in the ring fairly soon. Even a paper champion needs to be able to go when required. I hope Magnus is able to elevate himself on the mat in the same way he has on the mike. I confess the only ring work of his I've enjoyed was the (brilliant) run teaming with Joe. Overall, for me this was firmly in the 'pretty good' category. It was great to get out of Universal and back on the road again. Having the commentary position by the ring is another of the little things which make me happy. Most of all - the show made sense. There were references to past events like Sting's World Title ban, everyone behaved in a way consistent with their characters and everything built to a logical conclusion. This is something you didn't expect with TNA a few years ago. If TNA's future is to be a sensible, coherent show with a roster of younger (cheap!) guys, there's reason to be optimistic. |

A few signings to freshen things up helps the show I suppose because I think TNA has been rather stale for a few months now. I hope Joe gets a chance to get close to the top of the card again. Storm and Gunner are also potential options for a quick title feud rather than seeing the same few guys fighting for the belt again. Magnus vs any of those three guys is a pretty new combo so I think that's the direction to go once the Sting stuff is finished.
I would say that Magnus has Hardy waiting for him though and will probably drop the belt to him. |

The thing that frustrates me more than anything is the CONSTANT stop-start pushing of the X-Division. How many times has it been rejigged over the last few years? Weight limits, no limits, triple-threat matches, any matches, new talent, re-signing old talent - like Petey Williams - only for them never to appear again.
The X-Division is something TNA has that WWE doesn't. Why is it being treated so badly? |

In other news TNA apparently has ditched completely house shows for April and May and they'll be taping Impact episodes in Orlando on the following dates: March 13th, 14th and 15th, April 10th, 11th and 12th, April 28th and 29th, May 7th and 8th. In addition to that on April 26th they'll tape a One Night Only ppv and on April 27th they'll do a live pay-per-view (which to me is completely insane considering they're doing Lockdown on March 10th, there's Wrestlemania on that month and the night before UFC is on with Jon Jones defending the belt. WWE usually suffers a lot with UFC the night before one of their shows, imagine TNA. Anyhoo there are rumors that the ppv is gonna be Destination X.) |

Is anyone going to Wembley on Saturday? I can't make it this year which I'm a bit sad about
Kurt Angle was just on Sunday Brunch saying his true Hall of Fame Induction will be that day. |

I don't think telling him the crowd are saying 'Holy Hit, Holy Hit' is going to be believed for much longer... |

Really enjoyed most of Impact this week. I thought the Sting run-in fest was too soon after the AJ run-in fest. But Roode \ Angle was just great old school storytelling. Angle's cage moonsaults are like love letters to the business. Also, Impact US TV ratings significantly up, I believe. |
