Have they stopped taping at the Impact Zone again, or are these tapings outside Orlando just temporary?

I don't think anyone knows for sure. At the moment nothing is booked anywhere following the second run of New York tapings.

It's possible that until Spike TV formally renews Impact, TNA wont book any more tapings. I'm guessing the New York shows must take them fairly close to what would be the final Impact, if Spike don't renew.

What are the chances of Spike not renewing Impact?

No one knows. Meltzer said he thought they would be renewed but doesn't understand why nothing has been announced. Said the main reason they'll likely be okay is nothing to do with TNA- Viacom own Bellator MMA, and Impact is useful for promoting Bellator shows.

Ahh good old predictable AJ.

I've seen pieces of Impact here and there, however the World Cup and a friends wedding in Munich take priority.

I think TNA will sign a new deal with Spike. Their ratings are good enough, they fluctuate but they are generally not bad, it has good promotional capability for their other shows. I don't see where TNA go if Spike choose not to sign them again, but I imagine they will.

Hey guys, I haven't watched TNA in a while, I think since January, and everyone I was interested in kept on leaving lol. I watched it frequently when Hogan and co arrived but I did tend to fast forward through a lot of stuff and mainly watched it for the wrestling.

I'll be recording Global Impact tonight on Challenge as it's in Japan and Wrestle-1 wrestlers will compete. I've been watching a little TNA here and there these past few weeks but not too much, have they moved the shows to Manhattan? Is this permanent? What happened to Jeff Hardy, did he randomly disappear for a few months and come back as Willow? I see MVP and Bobby Lashley have arrived too lol.

Thanks.

I didn't even realise that was on tonight, thanks for the reminder.

I wish TNA would promote these shows better. They can promote a tour that doesn't happen for another 7 months by putting the dates along the ticker, but they can't do that for a show which airs on their own channel 3 days after the latest episode of Impact?

No problem . I only found out about it while I was searching for TNA on the Sky EPG and setting the shows on record. I wouldn't have known too lol.

True, i'm surprised Challenge isn't in HD yet, any rumours on that happening?

With it being a retro quiz show channel, most of the content isn't in HD, so I would imagine Sky wouldn't really feel the need for it currently. Also Challenge isn't a big priority for Sky, so probably wouldn't want the extra expense.

True but I think most of those shows would like nice upscaled. Yeah, you're right, looks like it's very unlikely to occur.

Global Impact is really odd, the J crowd are almost completely silent.

The knockouts match was one of the worst i have ever seen, every move was botched.

Anyone know when this was recorded? They have Maddison Rayne as KO champion, so must be quite old.

Takayama Abyss match on right now, which is better than I thought it would be

Yeah, there was absolutely zero atmosphere. What on earth was going on? I hate canned audience noise but really, we could have done with something on this, just to liven it up. Was the actual crowd really that quiet? Might explain the lacklustre performances in some of the matches. The camera work was terrible too.
I watched until nearly midnight but fell asleep for the last hour and half. Should I bother watching the recording of the last half?

The crowd in Japan are traditionally quite reserved when watching wrestling - it's been like that as far back as when I started watching it in the eighties.

It's often been said that they see it in a similar fashion to going to watch a theatre performance - they'll still applaud at the "good" bits

I don't really watch wrestling any more so I wasn't really aware the show was on last night, but i managed to record it on +1, so i'll give it a look later - i seem to remember the X Division match looked quite interesting.

Japanese wrestling crowds are not the most vocal, They observe and applaud. You can almost hear the people chatting, That is why a lot of japanese matches are almost shoots at times as you would hear the wrestlers talking through moves

Thanks for your replies. I didn't realise that Japanese audiences were so respectful during the matches.
Trouble is, it means that the tv broadcast is rather lacking in atmosphere!

It takes a while to get used to. If you listen to pretty much any interview with wrestlers who first go to Japan, they have trouble adjusting to the lack of reaction.

From WrestlingObserver.com

Quote:
“TNA announces reality show

TNA and Challenge TV in the U.K. will be doing a second season of British Boot camp. The official announcement was to come tomorrow but Challenge TV made the announcement early.

The show, produced by Jeremy Borash, will be expanded from the early season as this year there will be 12 competitors starting in August. The best six will continue filming in the U.S. in September. The finalists will be on the TNA January tour of the U.K. with the winner announced at the time.”

Bobby Lashley announced as fighting for Bellator MMA on 5th September; against a guy called Josh Burns who has lost his last 4 fights, and whom will presumably now have to play a face on Impact.
