I know this is only a minor point, but i wish TNA would have brought back the red ring ropes at the same time as the 6 sided ring.

(Well, I suppose we're here for twelve(?) weeks, so we'd better get used to it)
Really great show. From the fan-service opening to the brilliant title match. Lashley is so legit & effective at that big man role. I also love the fact that TNA have finally learned that a heel doesn't always have to cheat to win.
TNA are really firing on all cylinders now. Even the six-sided ring didn't bother me. In fact, the show very much resembled an attempt to placate the smarks & IWC. Of course, that's a thankless task as I'm sure they'll find a way to criticise TNA still. But luckily, at least this week, it made for a really entertaining and fresh wrestling show. Such a different feel from WWE, too.

I was surprised that Lashley won without cheating or any outside interference at all, that's almost unheard of heh
They're doing a good job with Lashley.
He will be a babyface down the road with the way they're booking him.
Dixie's promo was the worst thing on the show which is a positive.

That's a good point - made for a very refreshing change. It made Lashley look much more impressive too as he proved he was a solid champion and didn't need all that dicking around with King and MVP. It was a terrific match.
And Austin Aries was on fire this week - another really cracking match.
But what about that insane dive that Hardy did onto the steel steps? No matter how you do it, no matter how well you know how to fall, that still must have really hurt!
I haven't watched TNA in a while.
I recently started watching TNA again beginning with the TNA/Wrestle-1 PPV, great PPV.
I've been liking the shows since then, I really enjoyed the show from NY last night, it was a great watch. I hope they film in NY more often, awesome crowd. I look forward to watching the show next week.

I enjoyed the show, what a difference a non stale crowd can do. Only thing I really didn't like was Dixie.

I liked that the set wasn't flashy. They should change the wrestling part of the impact logo to red and bring back the red ropes as you said.

Excellent post, totally agree with you, especially having a different feel from WWE. Definitely looking forward to next weeks show.
How did you guys find Willow? Personally, I'm glad Jeff is back to being Jeff Hardy. Not really fond of his Willow character. This probably will not occur but i'd like to see Jeff become a heel again, I really dug his heel character, a great entrance theme too.
Lashley impressed me, I haven't seen him wrestle since his WWE run.
I've always loved the x division matches, always a great watch and they end up being my favourite matches, amazing talent, Sanada, Aries, Wolves, etc are great.
I really miss MCMG, Sabin and Shelley are awesome! I miss quite a few wrestlers that are now no longer part of TNA.

I do have to say watching it back, the production following the Aries match is very messy. It went straight from his promo into a recap of the knockouts which then went straight into the battle royal recap. You get to Hardy and Young and they cut to Roode before showing the end of the match with no links from the announcers between any of the clips.

Yeah I noticed that too! TNA production / editing can be pretty rough. At least nobody shouted "Cut!" off-camera this week!
I wonder if TNA are still filming things out of order?
They were doing that as of a few months back, so you had people at the tapings wondering what the hell was happening when you have matches happening before they've been announced in the show.

If it's true, I'm surprised. The ratings are decent enough but then again, some weeks they are fighting to break into the Top 100 cable shows. The big question is where do they go from here?
TMZ don't usually get these things wrong. Reading multiple reports of Dixie being told last week but claiming it was TNA's decision to leave Spike. Apparently the reason the decision has been made now is that it gives them more time to try and find another network as their deal with Spike expires in October.
They also pick up on the point that the decision came a few days after Vince Russo's continued involvement with TNA was finally confirmed as well.
They've still got plenty of international television deals in place but would this be enough to sustain them financially ?
It would be somewhat unheard of for a US-based promotion that's generally seen as the "Number Two" promotion to continue to operate without a US television deal.
They also pick up on the point that the decision came a few days after Vince Russo's continued involvement with TNA was finally confirmed as well.

I personally don't think it was their decision to leave - it seems like a bit of face-saving from Dixie there. Reading some other reports, there's a suggestion that Spike found it hard to sell adverts for Impact as well, and also that Dixie wasn't exactly forthcoming when asked if Russo was actually working for them or not.
So a lot of speculation up in the air at the moment, but the one thing that doesn't seem in doubt is that Impact has indeed been cancelled.
If WWE can't even secure an increase in TV revenue from NBC, then I can't see how TNA can have much of a chance getting on another network with the viewership they have.
You might find they go back to how they started and basically screen Impact on a PPV basis, but charge a nominal fee.
There's no chance Vince will step in and bail them out like he did with ECW because he doesn't need to - he has no need for the tape library they hold as he pretty much has the entire history of US professional wrestling at his disposal anyway.

It would give him the complete Jeff Hardy, Sting, Flair, Hogan, RVD and Angle rights though for future DVD releases. I don't think he will bail them out though.

Yeah there is that, but I think from a match quality point of view you can only really look at Hardy and Angle as having had any real classic matches in TNA. The others would probably only ever feature as part of a highlights reel.
There are a few of the main event guys in TNA that would most likely walk in to other jobs - Joe could go back to ROH or to Japan where he'd likely make a ton of money.
Angle would probably eventually find his way back to the WWE on a legends deal.
I imagine 3D would likely find an offer from WWE at some point as well.
Some of the lower card guys like Zema Ion and Rockstar Spud will struggle though.
