The whole thing's a farce though. She was told not to hire Russo by Spike, she did anyway then Russo emailed part of a script to pwinsider by mistake so everyone found out, and Spike aren't happy she was lying to them about it. I mean come on!

According to a couple of sites, TNA are currently paid $65,000 per hour of IMPACT, Spike want it lower and Dixie wants $100,000.

How much were they said to be paying Hogan for every IMPACT they booked him on?

Rumoured to be $35,000 a show, but Spike may have being paying it.

I would hope the TNA crowd would get behind them and show people that TNA still has some life in it and show Spike TV they are wrong not to renew the deal

I agree. My hunch is that this news will create a great, if somewhat chaotic, atmosphere at the tapings, and hopefully bring in a few viewers too, especially for the final episode.

I don't want to single anyone out here, but you know how I feel about rumours.

All this stuff about Russo, who emailed who, who was paid what. It's all speculation. Even the Spike cancellation is still a rumour, albeit one I find sadly convincing.

Basically, all the average wrestling fan actually knows about Dixie is that they find her annoying on-screen (although interestingly, segment ratings consistently suggest she's a draw). All the average fan knows about TNA is that they're not bust yet (although without a TV deal, they will be very soon). All the rest of it is unconfirmed rumour.

And I would say this about all the unconfirmed, hard to substantiate or conclusively refute, negative gossip about TNA, which has dogged them ever since they challenged Vince on Monday nights: Cui Bono ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cui_bono )

People are just discussing the stories/rumours as they are presented. Unfortunately, there are lot of things within the industry that can only be discussed as rumours because the truth never comes out. I don't think anyone is discussing anything as fact but are just talking about the rumours.

More so when it comes to Russo. People have their views on him (and the hiring) and no matter what nothing will change their views (Spike TV could make him CEO of the channel and people would still say they dont want him).

TNA has been on its last breath since near enough the day it started and things change very quickly in the Entertainment world.

TNA was a pet project for Dixie. Daddy paid for it and funded it largely to keep his daughter happy. TNA was going to be sold to another company but daddy still wanted Dixie as an on screen character and the other company refused. She clearly loves being a TV character.

Dixie has proven herself to be incompetent time and time again and hiring Russo when Spike do not like him and you have sensitive negotiations ongoing is mental. Not too mention lying about it to Spike is crazy as well.

I think most people would agree that since her heel turn Dixie has been awful with her character and her acting, BUT just these last few weeks the storyline of the building anticipation of Bully possibly putting her through a table has been a very amusing element to the episodes of Impact.

I wonder if now we will actually see her go through a table? If she were to do that, could it be the spot that generates sufficient buzz to save the Spike deal?

Everything here, except the fact the Carters invested heavily in TNA, is pure speculation.

There is never going to be anything but speculation about this, if you've ever seen Dixie being interviewed she never actually answers the questions, just gives vague positive statements; and even now 15 years later the key players will deny the death of WCW was in any way their fault.

The truth in these situations doesn't really exist, all we're ever going to have is various peoples opinions of what happened after the fact, and most of them will blame Russo I'd imagine.

TNA really had no choice - too many people's jobs were seemingly hanging on the continuing employment of one man so they had to cut him loose.

I imagine that there'll be an "understanding", if not an actual contractual stipulation, that Russo never, ever has any form of contact with anyone working for TNA again or it's an immediate forfeit of any deal they might receive.

TNA publicly punting Russo is a bit late. They've already lied to the only TV partner who will offer excellent terms for the size of company. Wrestling programming isn't in demand on the bigger cable channels and if they're are going to sign TNA up, they will have to accept a massive rights issues cut.

FWIW I personally don't buy that Russo was any kind of a reason for anything. I have a hard time believing TV companies cancel one of their top rated shows because they employ one writer they don't like.

Spike have a ton of reasons to cancel TNA which have nothing to do with Russo, or Dixie, however much the internet likes to hate on those two. Very basically, TNA never caught fire in the way they hoped, no longer has Hogan & Sting, and although it draws good ratings for them, the wrestling audience isn't worth much to advertisers. It's a simple, sad, economic decision.

I get that. Personally I find it unlikely a company would set up an elaborate conspiracy just to employ one writer. Even less that a TV company would cancel a show because they were upset about something so minor. The more you think about it the crazier it sounds, especially when there are more straightforward economic reasons for the decision.

When it comes to TNA it seems the internet will believe anything, as long as it's negative!
