thanks

i like the dx mitb style option but they need to realise it devalues the x title if they do it every year

i felt aries should have declined this time and talked about being the champ who will usher in a great new era for the x division.

Jeff is as good as ever, still doing mad stunts.

Matt looks a bit flabby although it doesn't appear to have affected his in-ring ability at all.

I meant, you know..... They've had a couple of rough years that may or may not have been caused by certain substances.....

Jeff has been clean for a couple of years. I've read him saying that he cites the "match" at Victory Road in 2011 as the point where he realised he had to turn things around.

If you can spare 10 minutes, watch it here ..

I've been a fan of wrestling since Wrestlemania 4, although not as much in recent years to be fair, but this is probably the only time i've ever seen something like this go down.

I've seen that. I agree, I've been watching since Mania 6 and the only thing that even compares with THAT Jake Roberts show.

The pro wrestling report reviews the reports that have been reported about TNA and their TV deal in the states and according to them provide the real reason why the deal has gone "sour". They also state that it is embarrasing Vince Russo is reported as the reason behind the deal going downhill.

If what PWR is reporting is true, then I am surprised. It is worth watvhing as they even talk about TNA toning down slightly.

Because Spike TV wanted to buy a percentage and be a partner of TNA IMPACT Wrestling. Not because Vince Russo was secretly behind the scenes as a consultant for the company

Thanks, that's interesting.

Of course, I don't believe a word of it without evidence. But it's still interesting.

I wonder if we'll ever hear the truth about why TNA was cancelled. It's thirteen years later and people still argue about why WCW was cancelled.

A full statement from Vince Russo. It's pretty long lol:

“As always, there has been much rumor, hearsay and scuttlebutt surrounding certain topics concerning myself, TNA and Spike TV. At this point in time, having parted ways with TNA and the ability to finally speak freely–there are a few things that I would like to set the record straight on.

1. As I stated earlier this week on the VIP Section of pyroandballyhoo.com, I was officially hired by John Gaburick as a creative consultant on October 24, 2013, with the plan being that it could lead to a permanent position in the future. At the time of my hiring, the specific instructions laid down to me by Dixie Carter, was that if anyone was to find out about our working relationship outside of me, herself and Gaburick—it would come to an end. I asked why the blanket of secrecy from the start—but never received an answer. Almost 9 months later, when an e-mail that I had accidentally sent out to a third-party was brought to the forefront, Gaburick was untruthful in telling the source involved that I was recently hired to produce the TNA announcers.

2. John Gaburick told me sometime in January/February that at a recent TV taping, he DID INDEED tell Spike representative Scott Fishman, that I was working with TNA as a consultant. He even went as far as to tell me that Scott “was cool” with it. Therefore, the story that Spike just found out about my involvement with TNA merely weeks ago, which caused them to not renew their TNA contract, is an ABSOLUTE MISTRUTH. Spike knew of my TNA presence some 6-plus months prior.

3. YES, I am 100% GUILTY of trying to work that said source who received the e-mail, in an effort to protect the wishes of my employer. I regret even agreeing to be dishonest, deceitful and untruthful from the beginning, but the TRUTH is that I needed the income, so I agreed to the verbal restraints that were dictated to me from the start. I regret that now. Hindsight being 20/20, I should have never accepted the job under those circumstances being that my ability to be honest and truthful with family and friends was taken from me.

I hope that clears up many of the rumors that have surrounded me as of late. I take full responsibility for LYING to protect the wishes of my former company, but that is the extent of my responsibility. If I could do it all over again, I would have turned down the job under those guidelines, regardless of the financials involved.

There is much more to this story, but I choose to lay it out one step at a time due to the intricacies of the situation. I just feel it is VITAL at this time to, again, get this point across—if John Gaburick did indeed tell me the truth—that he informed Spike representative Scott Fishman of my working relationship with TNA back at the beginning of the year—then SPIKE TV HAD FULL KNOWLEDGE THAT I WAS WORKING WITH TNA OVER SIX MONTHS AGO.

In going forward, my focus becomes 100% on my website pyroandballyhoo.com, and those who choose to go along with me on my journey. In addition to that, there are a couple of projects I’m currently working on and just wanted to share with you briefly.

-I am in talks to further develop a script that my son Will and I wrote about a year ago calledBelle of the Brawl – the premise of the show involves a fictional wrestling company owned and operated by a woman.

- Also, I plan on writing the third installment of my wrestling trilogy series that will go into detail concerning my 10 year run with TNA from start to finish. The title of the book is Total Non-Stop Agony, and the plans are to release it digitally through pyroandballyhoo.com.

In conclusion, after 20 years of dedicating my blood, sweat and tears to three major wrestling organizations, without ever holding anything back, and always delivering the best product I possibly could, I think it’s fair to say that that portion of my life has officially come to an end…

…or has it???”

I suppose the big question, why the secrecy? Why should only he, Carter and Gaburick know he's employed?

Two guesses:

1) SpikeTV had a poor working relationship with Russo, but being at a creative loose end and wanting to try get a ratings spike (something Russo has a good track record with in TNA), they turned to the only man they knew

2) Not wanting the IWC to view their product in the negative light that usually accompanies Russo being in gainful employment

I cant believe that they'd value the 'IWC' that stupid term, as the reason to not divulge information of Russo working alongside them again. That would be so sycophantically sad.

Kinda. But if there's one thing I've learned about the internet and TNA, it's that TNA can't win.

They do what the IWC say, the IWC say it's a bad idea. They don't do what the IWC say, Dixie's a moron etc.

I just wanted an alternative to WWE to watch

You still have one, as you were speaking about the other day, it's rumour and speculation they have been cancelled.

It was said that Hogan and Uncle Eric didn't like Russo but put up with him because he could write Impact every week- preparing a 2 hour show every week is a lot of work, that Hulk and Eric couldn't do/couldn't be bothered with, hence he stayed.

It maybe Dixie kept him against Spikes wishes because he could write quickly in a way no one else could.

Yeah I guess! Just preparing myself for the worst.

Plus, as I maybe said here or on another forum, I find the Spike rumour pretty convincing because there's some hard evidence to back it up: They've usually closed a deal a lot earlier than this / the hiring of UTA / WWE's disappointing TV deal / Impact is a much less appealing show to a network without Hogan & Sting.

I just find it odd that he is saying nobody except himself, Gaburick and Carter could know, there obviously are issues between Spike and TNA regarding Russo IMO. Possibly even stranger is that Russo broke the terms of his contract with Dixie by e-mailing Taz and Tenay.

To me the best case scenario for Impact and Meltzer has mentioned this in this weeks observer is Spike resigning Impact but on much reduced terms knowing there's not many other places that would offer the same kind of money or have the same standard of cable channel. Also UTA take 15% of any deal as a standard fee charge so the deal would be even worse.

Quite liked last nights XDivision PPV thing althought can't help feeling it would have been better to show it 5 or 6 weeks ago.

For lovers of old days TNA Challenge are showing an old PPV called Unbreakable 2005 next wednesday at 10pm.

Is that the one with the Styles/Joe/Daniels MOTY for the X-Division belt?

Yes and its part of a season of old PPV's Challenge are showing every Wednesday night.

Question after watching last nights Impact, has Abyss ever won a monsters ball match, he's known for them but he's lost every one of them that I've seen and I've been watching for getting on 4 years now.

i might be thinking of another match the three of them had together, but i'm sure i heard joe talking about this match once and he mentioned how he actually mistakenly went for the finishing sequence too early and they ended up having to improvise a lot of the rest of it.
