Just addressing the racism and anti climax I actually think that's more real to life than doing it any other way, I've helped clean up our Muslim ladies when they arrive at work having been spat on that's how it ends a box of wet wipes and me fuming they won't report it. I completely understand why they won't but it still annoys me people are getting away with it.
They certainly should report such outrageous attacks and it sounds like the victims are not telling the male members of their family too but either way they should report it. The goon generalising racist idiots will soon see how they get regarded once even arrested for a hate crime.

Yes that's what I tell them too. Can't make them though no matter what I say.

There is a charity that deals with hate crime towards muslims called Tell Mamma, they are on Twitter too. Maybe you should tell them about whats happening and tell your friends too?

I've seen a couple more of December's episodes, I enjoyed the first two episodes that done the casting and rehearsals for A Christmas Carol, it was very funny. I loved Sid getting the giggles with Zara attempting a cockney accent and then when someone done a Tiny Tim voice. I loved that Sid wanted to be either Feziwig or another kind character and that loads of them wanted to play Scrooge.

They got Rhuma to play the scary Ghost of Christmas Past?! That should have gone to Karen!

It must have been very hard for the actors to pretend not to know how to act in those casting scenes and I think it showed too. Valerie's audition was pretty funny too I thought.

Ayesha has improved hugely since she started. She had a real chip on her shoulder about her upbringing and circumstances. She was the sole breadwinner in a house with a useless drunk for a mother and a very young sister. Since letting her aunt bring up her sister, and moving in with Emma she's really improved. I like her. I also like Valerie now - couldn't stand her when she first started.

Tyler is lovely. When did he officially move in with Ayesha?
I really don't like that phrase chip on your shoulder. It smacks of a total dismissal of anyone who could well have a legitimate grievance on any situation/wrong done to them and that they should either not be believed or not heard.

I think Ayesha has been a pretty good interesting character but I agree with the poster who wrote why bring her mum back in yet again for? Unless they are going to get Bren to go clean generally and settle down then we don't need to see anymore of her gross antics.

I still don't like the way Tyler went about "wooing" Ayesha, thought it was a right "out of order" (mincing my words bigtime there) thing to do and way to go about it. He's gonna be in the dog house bigtime when Ayesha finds out he nicked her mum. In some situations in real life I could see someone crying serious foul on this too as they would might say they wouldn't of continued in the relationship had they know what he had done, not that Bren didn't deserve being arrested though.

I was very impressed at the sight of Sid right at the beginning of last Monday's episode.
He is one of those very muscular/has a good physique person where it is not obvious
when looking at him with his clothes on. Shame for him kind of. The only clue about his good physique is his quite chiselled face/jaw/neck.

I thought that the enslavement story was excellent and brought Doctors back up to scratch. Jimmi obviously is a lovely, kind, caring doctor and I am glad that they are not trying to match him up with the girl from the course.

Zara is just getting on my nerves with her OTT adoration of Joe. I know she is very popular with posters but I am afraid I cannot bear her. Oh dear, that's me on the naughty step!
The enslavement story wasn't bad, I thought the twist at the end would be like the way it was, didn't have much sympathy for the silly cow who came to her demise though though I can't approve at the same time of what happened to her either.

As for Zara, I was never one of her cheer leaders at all but she is a good character on the whole and the actress that plays her does the role very well. I prefer her real character of Alex, did you watch the episodes some years back that showed her as her original lovely character/person of Alex before she changed her personality and name to Zara? It was "tagged" as Zara's Revenge and was nominated for Best Storyline at the NTA I think.

Zara is as protective as she is of Joe as he will be her one and only child as a result of her going through the menopause very early and she had some of her eggs frozen in advance of that and had used up most of her frozen eggs when trying to "conceive" and they are now all "used up" for the want of a better term.

As posters might be able to tell, I have caught up with all the episodes now. I thought the Xmas play was very good for the time they had to do it and yes it would have been good to see an audience and their reactions but I can see/understand why the production team decided not too.

On Adam, I saw first him when I was behind on the episodes and was watching part of the beginning of some episodes and at first I thought he was a very bad recast of Jack. I'm glad he isn't as he is totally not like Jack at all and as for his mum, she's still alive right? Had a stroke but still alive?

Yes, Styker, I did see her previous incarnation as Alex and thought she was much nicer!

I get the "once and only" child thing as I had only one myself (now sadly no longer with us) but I am fairly sure I was not so strident in his defense but perhaps I am mis-remembering!

I'm so sorry about your tragic loss.

Re Zara, I think its definetely the case with Zara that she's O T T about Joe as he will be her only natural born child. Even more so that Daniel who has at least one other child is much more laid back about Joe in general.

Styker can I echo BootsNo7's

You really are one of the nicest and caring people on DS. Whenever any of us has spoken of our families in sad circumstances you always show your support through kind words. I know there have been times recently that life has dealt you a couple of low blows but you have had the strength to carry on after taking a few deep breaths.
Can I please wish you and BootsNo7 (for being nice also) a healthy and Happy 2017.

Of course you can. Same to you too and thanks for your kind words as well. I just generally try and do the right things in general and yes I've had many hard knocks but I try and carry on as best as I can, its not easy at all but again, I think its the best way to go about things. Do what I can and when as best as I can.

I wish you and everyone else the best for 2017 and onwards.

Thank you both lovely people - I do so hope that the New Year brings peace to you and anyone else who needs it - like the whole of the world I fear! x I am just so glad that the Christmas season is drawing to a close as I find it so hard.

Can I also send my best wishes to you all, and say that even though we only know each other through a virtual world, it is lovely to think that some people really do care about others - long may it continue x

Yes I agree. Maybe people are like this in a silent majority way and its just those that are not like that, that we notice? Happy and Healthy 2017 to you too.

Christmas is a long break for those lucky enough to get long amounts of paid time off and I know from other people who have also had tragic losses how hard they can find things at this time of year. We all manage in our own way, our own defence mechanism kind of ways, the main thing is to try and carry on as best as one can.

Thank you, as you say we only know each other through DS but sometimes it helps to know we can talk to people this way. We can open up from the comfort of our keyboard and get support from people who care enough to read our posts and take them to their hearts and help to keep us sane and also giving us the strength to carry on and get over things. Sometimes those closest to us can't always see what is happening in front of them.

I had a look at the spoilers section, still no new spoilers up really except for 1 mini one about who is appearing in a 2 part episode.
Spoiler

Maybe with the long break, the BBC haven't released the latest spoilers to the media?

Spoiler
I still don't like Tyler for the way he got with Ayesha in the first place, she has to take her share of the blame too. I think they should have had her split with Seb in a more normal way rather than showing both Ayesha/Tyler in a poor light.

They are good together but he is only credited as guest cast, just as Valarie was for three years, so maybe recurring?

Happy New Year to you too, and also to our other doctors friends 🍸

Here's also to a great year for our much overlooked soap - who knows what is to come.

Good idea to have a little bump too 🤕 as we soon disappear!
