I'm really beginning to hate seeing Emma having yet another go at Sam. I feel for him, he is trying to give her the release she needs to move on with another man and she still has a go at him!!! Poor Chris stuck in the middle of them though I think he is closer to his Dad. Emma is far to clinical with him must be her training that has hardened her

I am not a fan of Emma, however thought Chris was really really horrible to her today

at the beginning of the week Emma returns to her house with a suitcase having been staying at Howard's - for how many nights? turns out Chris had been away all weekend too - so they both left poor Sam without any proper company or care (yes, i know his carer would have been in but that's not the point). how could they both (Emma!!) leave a paralysed man all weekend whilst she goes off to sleep with her lover??!!!- and then come home and say she loves him.

i don't understand why people can't understand why such an active man like Sam would want to take his own life when he can't even now go to the toilet yet alone get outside for fresh air!

I do understand, but I also understand Emma and Chris's reactions. I think they are perfectly understandable too. Put yourself in their shoes. In many ways it's easier for Sam because he won't have to deal with the 'after'. People who have had a loved one who has committed suicide have to live with that for years. Suicide is in many ways very selfish.

I just don't understand their relationship at all....so much hatred from Chris, yet they work in the same place. If his hatred runs that deep he wouldn't have taken the job surely

I think Chris is a bit of spoiled brat who needs to grow up and see things through adult eyes rather than as a sulky teenager , but then I don't fancy him so maybe my judgement is clouded

& I cant help but think of Emma as Letherbridge's very own Mme Bovary

It' only a matter of time before we find out Sam is gay ( probably with cross dressing tendencies too ) and that's why they have an open marriage

I wouldn't be surprised if there was a lot of general truth that Sam is doing this partly to be some kind of subservient saintish martyr as well as being a bit of a doormat to Emma in general.

As for the point on why can't people understand why he would want to kill himself in his condition. Its been pointed out before that sometimes effects of stroke can be overcome for a start. Emma pointed that out too.
Sam hasn't even gone there in his thinking. As for not being able to move, yes horrible but it is also a case of carers in this case have seen it all before and done it all before. While trying to overcome the effects, sod whatever initial humiliation you might feel and try and overcome the effects.

I think the programme is just hellbent on reflecting high profile cases that have been in the news over the last few years but they should have thought about those that want to live and try and fight and overcome their conditions.

I have met at work many people in wheel chairs who drive their own cars and seem to be able to make the best of their conditions whatever their exact condition actually is and yes I know Sam is in a worser conditon. I look at celebs who so wanted to live and didn't make it like poor old Christopher Reeve who was completely paralysed and Patrick Swayze who had cancer but so wanted to live as did Michael Landon I read but sadly neither overcame their conditions.

I think then programme has gone too much for the cliche storyline and if it wasn't for other storylines going on and about to come up, I think I would have stopped watching the programme while this storyline is going on as i don't like it let alone find it comfortable viewing.

Finally Chris is a spoilt brat?! Hardly! The parents are both selfish goons and i feel so sorry for Chris having parents like that while being an only child too with no brothers or sisters to turn to either.

Chris is very unfortunate with his parents. Emma has shown herself to be selfish for some time now, she also relishes putting him down and is jealous of his easy friendships with both his father and people at the surgery. Sam is coming across as just as selfish. It's not great having to live in a wheelchair, but there are motorised versions which would enable him to leave the house and be more independent..He just sits around expecting people to wait on him. As a lecturer there is no reason why he can't work. Then there is the internet. I don't know where they are going with this but right now it is just frustrating.

yes, I can see that from Emma's and Chri's POV, Sam taking his own life would be seen as unacceptable - especially Chris really cos Emma doesn't act as though she loves him, just spouts the words - though we still don't seem to have the full picture on their relationship. wonder if we ever will?

I don't think Chris is a spoilt brat. he seems to genuinely care for people and be a good guy. he has a selfish mother who it seems never put him first, even when he was younger. He seem/ed to have a lovely relationship with Sam - think back to the day of the accident when they were out cycling together. So this must hit him so hard - BUT IMHO Sam is the one in the wheelchair hardly able to move, sitting there all day whilst they both free to come and go. maybe before the stroke things might not have seemed so hopeless to Sam - but now... well, i CAN understand it, though of course many will disagree.

Al is SO repulsive - they've obviously deliberately made his character that way but i really can't see any doctor acting and dressing like that in real life? i wouldn't go back for a second visit to him anyway.

Doctors isn't great at the minute, but Corrie is SO bad that Doctors beats it hands down IMO.

Just caught up with Wednesday,Thursday and Fridays episode.

I am starting to warm to Al now. He's a bit different to the other Characters on Doctors. Sure he's a bit annoying and lazy (and Weird) but deep down he does care but just doesn't like to show it. He always manages to come good in the end.

No return for Julia then She wants out at the Mill now
she wants to retire but I think before she does she needs to visit the Doctors and her Million Friends in Letherbridge. A guest stint is a must.

Just watching 'Karen' in an old ep of Silent Witness on Alibi channel

Al just makes me laugh everytime I see him. I loved that scene when he was slumped of a sofa with a half eaten pie perched on his stomach. I realise that he would not be allowed to dress like that as a GP, especially when the rest of them dress so smartly. I wonder how fat doctors like him can advise patients to lose weight and adopt a healthy lifestyle

It's simple it's just "don't do as I do, do as I tell you"...

Are they ever going to give Al a special screen of his own at the beginning of the show. We need to find out more about him
