is that 1.50 1981 money or 2013 money?
Hehe, yep that's a good point, I should've specified. That's 1.50 in current terms. It was 20p in actual money back in 1981. Blu Tac and crate paper didn't come cheap.

I hope the cross eyed woman gets to throw some darts as Jim stands very close to that board.

It wasn't the episode with the mass murderer on that I want to see again but the one with the bullyboy husband.
He was livid when his wife got questions wrong then when it came to the final round he couldn't get his own darts to stick in the board.
The audience were laughing and even Bowen was trying really hard not to laugh.

They did bring it back, but it did not work without Jim. There's plenty of gloriously corny game shows Challenge could repeat if they've survived. Gambit is my favourite.

Even back then we used to laugh at the prizes, they were rubbish, I would have gambled everytime..... Transistor radio's, electric tin openers you could screw on the wall, plastic kitchen scales etc...
I'm not 100% sure if this is an actual Bullseye quote but I've convinced myself it is - it sounds like one -

"Who does the washing? Who does the drying? No one, with this washer dryer"

Is Challenge on Freeview?

Sometimes the original presenter has moved on, retired, ill.
Sometimes the original presenter is dead.

I used to love watching Bullseye when I was younger. It used to coincide with the Aldous ice cream van turning up and I used to watch it while enduring an 'ice cream headache' .

It was rather taunting when the finalists didn't win the mystery star prize and it was still wheeled out. Quite often an Austin Metro City with vinyl seats.

Still...you can't beat a bit of Bulls**t!

Or the rather nasty Morris Ital from tonight's edition.

I couldn't even make out what the ugly blue thing was on the 10pm edition!

EDIT: an Austin Allegro. I'd be pleased not to have won that!

Yes, I have seen series from about the mid eighties and have often wondered what the very series were like.I know that Tony Green did have a prominent part in the show until the late 80's.

I wouldn't say no to a Morris Ital. Agree about Allegros - they are a bit ugly.

Star prize on Bully's prize board is a top loader VHS recorder and colour TV. Great Smashing Super!

EDIT: they just won a base spec Vauxhall Nova with a check seat trim! Beautiful!

Roy Walker wanted to do the new series of Catchphrase!

Jim Bowen wanted to do the new series of Bullseye in 2006!

Craig Charles wanted to do Takeshi's Castle Rebooted!

Yet all three were denied it.

On the star prize round last night, the non-dart player got 101 with only 2 darts - 2 x T19!!!

I wonder if that's the only time it was ever done??

Nice one. Long time since I played darts but I'm guessing less riskier than trying for the treble 20.

What did they win - A caravan? A Ford Fiesta with nylon upholstery?

I notice there was a huge big audience for the first 3 series.

Then in series 4 there was suddenly only 4 rows in tbe audience, and behind the audience what appeared to be the sort of blinds you see in an empty unit in the shopping centre.

Does anybody know what went on hidden behind Bully during the final round gamble.

I read somewhere that there were 2 prizes there, and the good prize was frantically wheeled away when it appeared as though they were going to miss out on 101 or more in 6 darts.

I'm not too sure about that david.I've seen people miss out in the 101 or more & the prize was a holiday or a car.But then again i've seen people miss out & the prize was a speedboat.
