BBC RB 303 HD has been deleted from the service tables this morning.

I'm slightly surprised they didn't leave a placeholder in case they want to bring it back on COM7/8 on an adhoc basis for Wimbledon etc next year. Perhaps it will reappear when the COM7/8 service data goes live.

Even though it's gone from the service tables, BBC RB 303 HD is still there on channel 303. The loop of music and sports events that was still showing an hour ago has now been replaced by a static caption.

The caption reads:

On the subject of static captions, BBC RB 301 went down to a static caption during Dr Who on Saturday, and was observed with video bitrates under 800kbps. This of course enables other channels like BBC One to achieve higher bitrates. Normally a practice only seen during royal and sporting events.

Yes agreed, my pidscan of BBCB hasn't reported any significant changes yet. If they reuse the same video/audio PIDs for BBC3/CBBC then I won't spot that change.

It's just been removed from the Freesat EPG. I strongly suspect that they are waiting for the stream to be removed from the EPGs of all digital TV platforms before changing the stream to an HD channel test.

It's been removed from the Virgin Media EPG as well (checked on a TiVo).

BBC3/CBBC HD to launch soon then.

It's believed all the new HD services will begin at the same time (estimated 10th Dec)

On her About the BBC blog post, Alix Pryde has promised to post again with an update on the launch of the channels BBC Red Button will regenerate into by the end of the 2013.

In the meantime, we have Red Button Text on SD TV and Radio channels on DTT always with us.

Page 998 has had a makeover to bring details of the week's higlights on 301.

I think PIDs 6700, 6701 and 6702 have just gone - that was PMT, video, audio for the former 303 LCN. I wonder if something new will appear shortly.

Yes, the static caption and everything associated with BBC RB 303 HD has finally gone. My TV has just deleted the channel as a result of the change.

But where is the advent calendar?

I know, I know!

At least there's always for onliners The Doctor Who Adventure Calendar and the and CBeebies homepage has one for younger viewers. I believe CBBC and CBBC Newsround also have Online Advent Calendars but grown-ups can't access them with their BBC ID

Indeed, my son just tried to access it from my logon and got told he was tool old!

Not sure why they would think adults are too old to look at a Advert Calender, I gladly have one on BBC Red Button.

The BBC's Send us a comment choice on http://www.bbc.co.uk/complaints/complain-online/ is your friend: too late for this year certainly but if you ask now, maybe in 2014 room could be found be those who put the service together.

Just got the new red button connected on my smart tv.

My mum's TV had an update recently that enabled this too. It's a Sony LCD. My Panasonic plasma also had an update recently but no connected red button as far as I can see.

Not working on my Samsung TV even though the model number is stated on the BBC page.

I get the banner to 'try the connected red button' but then I get amessage that I may need to download an app from the App Store although when I check there isn't one there.

I can get the 4Music IPTV red button service working no problems.

There seems to be an issue with news pages not matching indexes today. I have noticed it on 501 and on the Scotland news pages.

Ofcom has given is consent for the BBC to operate a Red Button stream on Arqiva capacity for the Winter Olympics.

The stream will be on the multiplex known by Ofcom as Mux C, by Digital UK as COM5 and occasionally also "Arqiva A"...

This means there will be two BBC RB streams - the existing one on 301 plus this secondary stream.
