Monsters Inc was recently rereleased on 3D and the following films are set to follow suit

-Finding Nemo
-Independence Day
-The Little Mermaid

Is anyone else aware of any other films in getting a 3D rerelease?

The Independence Day 3D rerelease was either postponed or scrapped.

Jurassic Park is getting one later on in the year.

Top Gun has had a 3d conversion, but it's unclear if it'll be released in the UK (it was done to hype a sequel, which now isn't happening due to Tony Scott dying).

Here's a fairly accurate list.

After the fabulous Hugo 3D, I'm looking forward to The Great Gatsby. The 2D trailers are brilliant.

I can't stand 3D, i really don't see what it adds - it totally distracts me and "takes me out" of the experience.

I'd always choose 2D

I've a feeling TPM 3D didn't take much money .

according to Screen Rant it did $103m worldwide which was enough to make it a profitable outing, personally i suspect it might be simply because Disney don't want Lucasfilm doing it for Fox(who are still distributors of the Prequel and Original Trilogies)at the moment whilst they are working on the Sequel Trilogy

It's out in the US soon, I hope it does come over here, I'd love to see it on the big screen. Then again, knowing my local Cineworld I'd see it on one of the screens the size of a TV!

Jurassic Park is out later but I read somewhere that the late 1990's CGI (which is still impressive mind you) has not been updated. The reviewer thought it should be to facilitate a successful 3D conversion.

Distributors (and 3D glasses manufacturers must be laughing all the way to the bank.
