Favourite food from the Chippy

I have still got the flu, and my sister asked if i wanted chippy chips and sauasge for tea ( last week)..so i said oohh that sounds nice

..and it was..It was chippy chips,gravy and sausage..yum, made me feel better, what i could taste etc

what do you like at the chippy

9.9 times out of 10 it will be a half lot.

That is a small fish and chips which is still a decent sized portion. Several chippies sell it for £2.50 which is a great price.

Either Spam Fritter or a Battered Sausage.. yum! yum! yum!, The nicest I've had, is a fish and chip shop thats about a 20 minute walk from me, or 5 minutes when my dad can be bothered to cycle there, my dad knows the owner, so we sometimes get scraps/extras with our meal, so thats a bonus.. =)

Does Pia in Lochwinnoch still exist? If it does their chippies are legendary.

There's a big difference between a Scottish and an English chippy. I'm biased of course but I think Scots chippies are way better- unfortunately on account of the sheer greasiness of the chips. Also, the batter is different; lovely.

I don't generally do chippies down here in the south, but I would hitchhike up the M1 to have a haggis supper, or a hamburger supper, or a pizza crunch supper, with plenty of salt and vinegar (or 'sauce' if I'm in Edinburgh), served in a newspaper- yes, some places still do it- with an old fashioned glass bottle of Irn Bru or Red Kola.

I'm sure my fellow Scots will appreciate!

Oops you caught me out, haha! I must admit I've not seen Pia but I usually get my chips from La Dolce Vita in Lochwinnoch, they're absolutely gorgeous.

And yes I definitely agree with you about Scottish chippies being miles better!

I haven't had a takeaway for months now. I kinda miss them.
