Surely it's the tail end of a fish my dad would always ask for a tail end burnt black

I only get chicken and chips from a proper chip shop. That's ones that don't also sell those horrible kebabs.

I think you're going to the wrong chippy's if they leave the bones in.

I don't think so Walter. If you get haddock from a Scottish chippy then the bones are never removed. I think you're just eating them without noticing them, or eating a different type of fish.

When i'm in the house I take the bones out but to do that you need to near enough remove the whole middle section and then use cocktail sticks to hold it all together when frying.

Oh yeah, but it has to be proper Northern chip-shop curry sauce.

I used to live near to a chippy where the owner loved to experiment. One of my favourites was a garlic burger, a wonderful, home made concoction which was minced beef, mushroom and half a bulb of garlic in each burger. You had to like garlic to enjoy it, but it was amazing.

Seeing I now live at least 2 hours away from there, it's just a chip barm and a sausage, usually. Speaking of which, it's a chippy tea tonight, cos we pass a really good one on the way to the studio

I've been to a few and they had bones, in and around Edinburgh and Dundee. Just the Haddock though.
