This is like Diana Ross meets Janelle Monae, a fantastic record which is a very radio friendly single. Urban Radio stations will love this!

Aside from the 'Boom boom, shake the room!' hook making me think of the Fresh Prince song from the 90's, it's a darn good song. Catchy and different, and I agree with the OP, very Janelle Monae!

And she even gets a sneeky little rap in at the end! Loved the video, off course it was on a budget but she really made the most out of it. Loved the different personalities she portrayed, showed great character. The growth she has had is clearly evident.

This should be the UK's entry for Eurovision it would be EPIC! and Gamu can most definitely sing LIVE!

i agree.

what we should send is a light, enjoyable entry that is entertaining but not too cheesy as to seem too patronising...

This is actually excellent. Could actually see it being a hit if promoted properly and given some proper airplay. Hope radio gives this a chance. Well done Gamu!

Sh/ts on anything Cheryl Tweedy has ever done.

I like it and could imagine this on the radio. It's not a song I would buy though, but I could see me singing along with it if I heard it playing.

I really like it.

Hopefully this takes off but I fear she will have left it all too long and people won't be as interested in her.

She sounds great but the song is about 5 years too late....i.e Duffy.

I understand what you mean about Duffy, but I have never liked Duffy for some reason (the tone of her voice maybe, I just can't help finding Duffy's songs grating)... While I kind of really like this song and don't get that annoyed feeling that I get with Duffy.
It's full of energy, I really like it. I like the talking part too, it shakes things up instead of the song seeming to be some sort of endless loop.

I can't help being impressed! I really hope that her X factor stunt will give her som free press because the label she has signed with is small, so I don't know how much promo she will get.

Gamu was on a series 3 years ago and only made it to judges houses. I doubt many people will remember who she is.

Gamu made alot of impact though, her eliminations caused uproar and Cheryl recieved death threats and was on the front page of the newspapers because of it. Plus then the stories came about her being deported, so I would say people will still know exactly who Gamu is.

I thought of that too - because of the "retro updated" kind of feel the song has, its actually really good though I liked it
