Little Mix and Amelia both dissapointing chart performances with recent singles
I liked both but it was dissapointing that both their recent singles only peaked at 12 and 11 respectively.
I actually thought shut up sounded better as a accoustic version now Just shows that over a year later since the show its getting increasingly difficult for x factor acts to keep a momentum going. Unless you a boy band seems the public lose interest very quickly. Be interesting to see what the class of 2012 are doing this time next year |

Is that bad these days? Little mix is probably only there because their album was realeased before the single so fans (Like me
) won`t need to buy the single. I love little mix!!

Really?
Change Your Life was a post album single which had no Single EP or seperate single. You had to buy it from the album if you wanted it. So #12 is brilliant for it. Did you expect it to go to #1 with 100K sales |

The album came out before the single. The album came out 19th November 2012 and change your life came out 3rd February 2013!!

Amelia was doomed as soon as she mocked Tulisa's "low" second single entry.

I feel like she's lucky these are still pre-album singles. |

Please do your research - Little Mix are doing absolutely fine for a post-album single. In fact, if anything, it shows that they can reach out beyond their core fanbase, considering it's still lingering around the top 10 on iTunes. Olly and 1D usually get similar positions with their post-album singles - would you consider either of them a flop?
Amelia, on the other hand, is a whole other story. Although #11 is a decent peak, it's nosedived out the top 40 and I'm pretty sure it's nearing #200 on iTunes after only 3 weeks. |

Little mix (as xfactor winners) albums sales are disappointing too i would say. Im not saying that they flopped (as I did some time ago
) but they really underperformed (again especially as xfactor winners). And another fact is that only Olly (and 1D maybe?) so far sold more albums with his second album.. so it doesn't look good for little mix, but of course if they have a great second album they could break this pattern

They never do as well in the charts as the pre album ones for any artist!!! It makes it even harder for it to chart well when you could only buy it from the album has their was no EP or single. Is it so hard to understand?!?! |

I think LM have done ok with Change Your Life... they would prob easy get top 10 if they reduced it to 59p on itunes like 1D did with itunes.
However even with a peak of 12 it looks like it will have a steady chart run |

Those chart positions aren't bad, LM in particular their album has been out for a long while which impacts single sales as people already have it as part of the album.

I like how half of the Little Mix Thread came to defend the band straight away.

![]() I've noticed this trait is prevalent in 1D, LM and Union J fans. I love watching it, it brings great amusement

I think that the problem is that Little Mix are average singers seeking an image, and Amelia Lily is an average singer but not a major talent.Given the sales trajectory of each, I would be surprised if either did well with a second album (or a first in AL's case) whatever the material. While LM are hawking their first single in the US, the second one did markedly worse against the charting of the first where it was released.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Misha B - she was easily the best thing to come out of the show that year.

To be fair when have talent and success been co-dependent? There are many people who have sold millions of CD's with only a mediocre amount of talent, Justin Bieber being a prime example.

Wait, this is coming from someone who thinks talent is reflected by sales and chart positions? OK lol.
