Hi there, I have an external HDD which I want to put MP3 files (music) and images, I will be playing the music through my BD player which advises to format to Fat32, would I be able to store both on this fromat? do I need to partion it?
as you can tell I not up any speed with thses things.

How big is the disk in gigabytes?

You should be fine.

If you open 'computer' or 'my computer' and you can see the drive then right clicking it should give you the option to format.
A quick format should be OK.

If you've only inserted the HD, then you'll have to go to disk manager and stick a least one partition on the drive. My computer wont see it till then.

Theres a good chance its already pre-formated as FAT32. Give it a try and see.

If its not then you will need to download a tool to format it to FAT32 as Windows wont allow you to make a new volume over 32gig in this format (though it has no objections to reading/writing to existing ones).

The HP disk utility should do the job.
