Is yummy and a great alternative to boring cheddar. Give it a try!

You're so right. I like it with chives or pickled onions.

I think DG and Cheddar are very similar.

DG is quite a lame cheddar. I prefer stronger cheddars tbh.

I prefer single Gloucester.

DG is nice but there are other cheeses I would choose ahead of it. Not all Cheddar is boring.

Double Gloucester isn't a cheddar, though.

I'm not a fan of Double Gloucester. A strong Lancashire is my cheese of choice.

I thought you'd be appreciating the Single Gloucester as it has an EU PGO and has strict requirements other than DG which can be made my any old dairy, similar to Cheddar and West Country Farmhouse Cheddar.

Didn't know that. How do they differ taste-wise?

It would depend on the quality. i.e. with cheddar you can have your bog standard supermarket or the more artisan. No real comparison in taste or sometimes texture.
