I have two - very useful when cooking a veggie dish in one and meat dish in the other.

ive got two. one is a genuine indian wok bought in Goa. its real hefty and i have to hold it while im woking because its round bottom wobbles on my hob. but i love it.

I use mine to make stir frys- seems to be less messy. The one I own is quite deep so less spillage of the veggies. Only stir fry I make nowadays is noodle based (all in one wok pan) so this is perfect.
Also make my own prawn crackers in mine- 4 times cheaper than buying prawn crackers ready done/takeaway ones - and just as nice!

I love my wok, really enjoy cooking chinese and curries at the weekend. Getting our new kitchen put in starting on Monday, can't wait to get cooking in there but will have to wait 2 weeks as it's a big job.

yes I use it for stir fries and to do the squashed potatoes from Jamie Oliver's 30 minute meals book.

I used to owm a wok until i followed a recipe for Chinese Chicken curry. It said cook the chicken on a high heat in the wok for just 3 minutes - which I did. I ended up in hospital with severe food poisoning.
I and all my family subsequently binned our woks and will never use one again.

I'd have binned the recipe rather than the wok.

I love my wok too. I sometimes use it for stir fries, but also for any mince dishes (spag bol, chilli, cottage pie base, etc) because it is so much deeper than a frying pan, so easier to use.

I also use washing up liquid to clean it, (because I've just this minute found out that you're not meant to ), but I do rub it with sunflower oil once it's clean.

I imagine when they have an undercooked roast chicken they chuck the oven out.

Would love to own one but would never be able to get it hot and flaming like the experts.
