I have a frying pan that my mother bought in 1962 that still gets used regularly can anyone do better. I will take a photo later if I can tidy the kitchen so it looks presentable.

My mother has pots and pans older than that still in regular use. My oldest date from 1982 when I lived in France and bought various kitchen items. My main saucepan set is a Habitat 'Basics' white enamel set with non-stick inner bought in 1991 when I bought my first flat. They were intended as a stopgap until I could afford something 'better', but they've turned out to be fantastic, are still going strong and still look pretty much good-as-new.

My folks got some AMC stainless steel pots back in the mid eighties and still going strong and I can't ever imagine they'd go wrong.

Cheap non stick frypan from 1980. It has only been used for frying eggs and it is still as non stick as it was when new!

I have a set of 3 saucepans that were a wedding present in 1974, and my milk pan is about a year younger.

My mum and dad have a small pot that they got for their wedding 41 years ago, my dad uses it every day to heat up his soup.

Not as old as some of yours, but I've got a big stainless steel pan that I rescued from a skip when I was a student in the mid-90s. I've got loads of posh Le Creuset stuff these days, but the skip pan is still my favourite and I use it all the time. Not bad for something that was consigned to the rubbish heap nearly twenty years ago!

I recently bought some copper pans that came out of the old City Hall in London. I don't know how old they are but from the little research i've done I think they are 1950's or even a lot older. The big stock pot at the front weighs 27lb!! I'm going to get them re-tinned and polished up. God knows where i'm going to put them!

Oh, did you go to Ikea abroad? What are the shops like? Are the UK ones just the same or do they vary what they offeer by market?

I've got my mam's pressure cooker. Only the pot though haven't got the lid.

It's only used for when making a very big batch of soup/stew or similar

Not so much a pot but I have a metal whisk from days gone by. My mum used it and I still use it now. A little wonky in it's working now but still does the job nicely.

Very much like this but with a wooden handle that has somehow managed to stay on all these years.

Edit: Sorry it's called as Rotary Beater

So I guess mine is from the 70's.

The oldest pots I have are some Le Creuset ones that were a wedding present nearly 20 years ago which seem quite young compared to some on here!

I have a couple of very old pans, a double boiler for making sauces that my Grandmother was given on her wedding day 1938, and an even older one she was handed down from her mother, I believe it was originally bought in 1899 from looking in an even older recipe book/diary from that year. It is never used now but is perfectly servicable still - cream enameled I think it may have had a green stripe around the top but that was worn away before I ever saw it.
