Snowwhite and the huntsman=wow.
I watched this last night and was blown away.
Really good twist on the original tale and effects excellent. A friend said to me it was like Van helsing but i disagree. Good watch all round. Thoughts? |

It was okay, though Kristen Stewart was pretty dire in it.

I absolutely hated it. I didn't engage with one single character or any of the story. Charlize Theron, who I usually love, was awful. All she did was shout and throw tantrums. I won't be coming back for the sequel that's for sure.

I liked the film myself apart from the fact that Kristen Stewart was totally miscast. She has no charisma whatsoever, about as wooden as a woodentop.

I didn't think that it was that great. I only saw it because there was nothing better on. I probably won't see the sequel.
I'm surprised that there is even going to be a sequel. |

I thought she was ok, but the film as a whole was a bit meh.

I thought it was ok for a bit of a time waster on a saturday morning. slightly bemused at thor's choice of a scottish accent though, but, that said, i found it quite watchable, if only for ray winstone as a dwarf

Passable, but not one I'd watch again.
I'd agree that Kristen Stewart was a dreadful choice. |

I was very disappointed. The trailer looked amazing and I was tremendously underwhelmed.
KStew was fine, though. |

There were some excellent images in the film such as the dead birds/pool of blood/resurrection scene.
I also loved the brother/henchman in that he looked to be the typical comedy sidekick who is usless at everything (yes Guy of Gisborne I'm looking at you) but was then revealed to be bloody capable and able to kick Thor's arse all over the shop. Which made a nice change. However Stewart was awful, not only her acting but because she just wasn't that stunningly beautiful. There was a scene when she was with the woman in the fishing village hut being told how utterly beautiful she is and the camera has a really bad angle that makes her chin fill half the screen.I couldn't help but think that, even with the other woman's scars, Stewart was still the second most beautiful person in the room. And her great rousing "once more unto the breech" before the final battle speech was terrible, I couldn't see anyone being roused to battle by that. It seems liked an embarrassing managers "pep talk" at work that would have everyone looking embarrassed and shuffling away back to their desk. I also had issues with the inclusion of God in the fantasy world (from the Lord's prayer to talk of Angels) without tackling just how the official church feels about (and explains) the presence of faeries, horned forrest lords and the like. ![]() So a curates egg for me. So far the bad has stopped me buying it for my collection, but the good means that once it gets down to £5 or so in Tesco I probably will. Cheapest at the mo is £6.28, so it's still too much.
