This seems to be their theme in most documentaries now, I'm not sure that it ever used to be quite like this. I wonder if it's because by doing this the governement will be happy (the idea that it creates a feel good aspect) and therefore prolongs or gets them more money for the license fee.

I find it ridiculous and misleading how they sometimes have to pretend there isn't an international context for things. It isn't at the level of American bias yet with the narrator intoning about 'our great nation', but it's going that way.

It seems a bogus division anyway; more interested in subject matter than the nationality.

That invention programme made all sorts of stupid claims about Frank Whittle and jet engines; so much nonsense.

On a related theme, how a competition about baking cakes needed to be prefixed with 'British' I have no idea
