Old computer running linux and a bit of messing around and you could do it yourself and would probably be the cheapest option as the only cost would be the electricity to run the box, but if you go for someone else to do the dirty work make sure that they do backups, run the software you want, have support lines open when you need them, generator/ups backups

I use WestHost but they've gone downhill in recent years so I wouldn't really recommend them.
GoDaddy are well known but I've no experience of them. Their web hosting starts at £2.29 per month if you sign up for three years. http://www.godaddy.com |

I use Pixel Internet and am more than happy with them. Loads of free add-ons and excellent support when needed. It costs £1.49 a month. You can also set up and manage your own domain with them if you want.
Not sure how happy your ISP would be with you going the DIY route and hosting your own busy web site. |

TSOHost. Excellent support, if needed. Good prices. Nuff said.

Another vote for TSOHosts, good prices, very fast support response at any time of day. My host of choice these days.
I would NOT recommend Easyspace..expensive and nothing special. |

Another vote for TSOHost - https://www.tsohost.com/product/web-hosting - I've been with them for a few years and they're fantastic.

Thanks all. Yes I went with Pixel Internet as my site is very basic so I don't need much!
Thanks for all of your suggestions. |
