I think those who hate Doug Carter will like him again now he isn't with the terrible Ste Hay. You just know once Brendan Brady leaves he will come sniffing back.

Obvious but honestly, I would prefer John Paul with doug rather than ste. Hope it's all done slowly if its done though. Also want them to stay true to dougs character.

Doug is alright, I guess... I'm not very keen on the idea of John Paul and him getting together but I'll give it a chance.
Ste is really annoying though and I don't like his character, so I hope he's not involved. |

I'm not looking forward to it. I don't hate Doug at all. In fact, I really started to love him during the whole Silas/Lynsey story, but when they put him with Ste they made the character unrecognizable. All he's had to do for months now is whine, be on the verge of tears, act desperate etc. He was just being used to further Ste's story (now I do hate Ste). But still, I just can't see him with John Paul. I could more easily see him with someone like George.

I think it could be the making of Doug,, he seems to have grown a bit when he went home, the little bits I've seen since then he's come across well
I like JP, I think they could work well together, and to be fair to Doug , to me his neediness when wih Ste was because of Ste and Brendan, which was justified! I don't think that's how he'd be in an actual 50/50 relationship (at least I hope not!) |

I'd rather they didn't put JP with anyone for a while and let him focus on his career, making friends and rebuilding family bonds. Why do characters have to be shoehorned into relationships at the first opportunity?

oh joy. why is it impossible to just keep the characters - particularly the gay characters - single for a significant amount of time? why is it that when the gay characters have a storyline - with the exceptions of brendan and esther - it ulitmately becomes all about their tangled love interest??? |

Why does doug have to drag every character down! I really wish he had stayed in America. I was hoping John Paul would get with one of the male McQueen boys but looks like ste will be getting with a new character

I really can't stand JP and I'm ok with Doug, so I don't want it to happen for Doug's sake!
It's not surprising though that HO are pairing them up. Like it' too much to have two gay characters and not let them get it on!! Of course, unrealistic that they would fancy each other as I'm pretty certain every gay bloke doesn't fancy every other gay bloke they meet, but there you go, soap world for you! I know George is around, but he seems to be ignored most the time!!! |
