I love JP and dislike Doug so no, I'm not looking forward to it!
The whole 'Stug' relationship ruined Doug by turning him into a whiny, possesive, crying misery. It was obvious that 'Stendan' would eventually reunite so was it really necessary to ruin Doug's character for what was essentially only a plot device relationship? I have no idea why they went as far as marrying 'Stug' when Ste and Brendan were always going to get back together in the end!

I wouldn't be opossed to JP and Doug having a casual fling but I don't want them to be in a long term relationship.
Doug has only been with Ste since he realised he was gay (more like since the writers decided to make him that way...) so I think it makes sense for him to want to explore his options and keep things casual with JP. Not everything has to be turned into some epic love story.

It's not surprising though that HO are pairing them up. Like it' too much to have two gay characters and not let them get it on!! actully theres 4 gay men if you count george (would he count as a man or is he more boy?), it looks like JP Gets whatever bloke Ste doesnt want (ste wants doug - brendan ends up JP,Ste wants Brendan,Doug ends up with JP)

I'd rather JP was paired with Patrick, but I'm not against JP and Doug. As long as they have chemistry, I'm fine with it. I like Doug. I think he got a raw deal by getting involved with Ste, who lied to him repeatedly that it was over with Brendan, then would accuse him of all sorts of things when he was suspicious about Ste's obsessiveness with his abuser. My only concern is that Ste will come sniffing around once Brendan is gone.

i think george is lovely definitely one of the better teens. he had a decent storyline when he was homeless, and he's been a good friend to esther when TPTB haven't kept him conviently offscreen visiting his grandmother or something
i'd sooner see him then see yet more of the mcqueens or savages.

as for doug....i've always hated him right from the very start (and i've never put much stock in the actor's abilities either. a lot of the time he just makes me cringe). but dear god what WAS stug???!!! it made him 100million times worse. forget the polar ice-caps melting - doug's tears are the real global threat!!! still....it might be briefly amusing...if only to see JP's best "WTF, OMFG WHATISHAPPENINGRIGHTNOW-WTF-IS-HE-DOING?????WTF DO I DO????" face as doug starts weaping. (if anyone's wondering, it's intensly similar to all his other faces, but more frowny than usual and with wider eyes...)

I think Doug could be less whiney in a relationship with a partner that actually isn't in love with someone else and that's not coming by a doug fan. Anyway he was a bit obsessed with Ste in fact he asked to marry him knowing too well Ste wasn't totally into it so I don't know if the needy side would be still there with JP. If that was the case JP would know what to tell him

There is alo no possiblity for Ste to come back to doug sniffing like someone said, not only it wouldn't make sense for the characters because stug relationship was a mistake made for all the wrong reasons and a failure brendan or not brendan (stug were on the same wave lenght only when they were friends), but also because Ste's next sl isn't probably about a relationship if the actor's words are anything to go by.

I have no problem with JP and Doug getting together. If it does happen then I hope it goes slowly, I'd like to see them bond or have chesmitry before getting serious. I just really hope Ste doesn't get involved because he brought the worst side in Doug when they were together.
