Yes, of course it was. How remiss of me.

Anything about the Christmas special? Anyone? Who's directing it? Hopefully not Farren Blackburn!

God the thought of Matt's regeneration story being left in the hands of Blackburn terrified me for a second. He'd ruin it, and we'd possibly have had the worst regeneration story since Time and the Rani. >_<

Really I think the issue with the episodes Blackburn has directed have come more from the scripts themselves or financial limitations rather than any flaw in his directing abilities. He just gets stuck with dross it seems...

To be honest that could also be a factor. I guess when it happens twice, it does tend to cast doubt on his abilities though. However, IMO, TDTWTW and Rings of Akhaten both were Moffat and Cross's worst scripts by far for the show. So it's just a load of errors that culminated on the poor scripts... >_<

I love The Rings of Akhaten, loathe The Doctor, The Widow and the Wardrobe. I don't think either of those opinions stem from the quality of the director - both episodes had their director-driven strengths and weaknesses. Akhaten was a vast improvement over Widow though...in terms of writing especially

Any way, there's an interesting article on Doctor Who TV, with a theory about the Hurt Doctor. Personally I think it's reading way too much into things, and I'm not convinced by the screencap from the trailer it talks about - nor do I think that they'll go so in-depth with Classic Who continuity for the 50th story...it'd just boggle it down. Still, it was a very interesting read and brilliantly put together all the same,

An interesting read but unfortunately it all falls apart from the off with the ludicrous suggestion that it isn't a hand but a De-Mat Gun. It clearly is a hand. Yes an oddly posed one but a hand all the same. Also even if the Doctor was to have a De-Mat gun then surely he would be holding it? Instead it appears to have been grafted onto his body in an Ash/chainsaw style. Not groovy.

I just took a peek at the cast list for "The Day Of The Doctor" on wikipedia and...(not always reliable i know but... ) I saw this...

Quote:
“Ankur Sengupta as a UNIT solider and Arcadian refugee”

Um, I could go on wiki now and put up there that Stewart Lee is reprising his role from that Big Finish where he played a Cyberman in the 50th... but that wouldn't make it so.

Agreed on the usefulness of Wikipedia as a source for Doctor Who clues, though thought it worth pointing out that that Ankur Sengupta's online CV was first spotted in late August, and it stated he would be playing both an Arcadian refugee and a UNIT soldier.

Could all be fake still, but Doctor Who TV reported on this some time ago

It might be a hand, but it sure doesn't look like a wrist!

** not saying I believe the theory - though I did enjoy reading it.

Tchah! I was hoping for some sexual swear words (warning - must be over 35 to remember what the heck this was about).

I'd....like that!

But is 1m 10s an insult?

With regards to the runtime on the BBFC site.

You've got the cinema version (with added making of) coming in at 85 mins 24 s (both 3D and 2D) but why are there 2 Video classifications?

One at 76 m 44 s and the other at 80 m 0 s.

I'm not sure he would. From the biography section of his website:

Quote:
“MARCH 2002 S Lee appears alongside the comedian Richard Herring and Colin Baker as a Cyberman called Ryan Carey in REAL TIME, BBCi's online Doctor Who drama.
It's come to this.
Guest-starring in the production is Yee Jee Tso, who, ironically, appeared as Chang Lee in the Doctor Who TV movie. The show was recorded at Moat Studios, where free jazz types Derek Bailey, Ruins, Acid Mothers Temple etc have also recorded.
Dr Who does not contain improvisatory elements.”

Well maybe we shouldn't ask him about it then.

It might make him Chang Lee and you wouldn't like him when he's Chang Lee.

(Richard Herring too? Post TMWRNJ? Didn't know they worked together much after their TV shows finished!)

I think a 1m10sec trailer is more than adequate and look forward to it. Maybe it will be put on this weekend...seeing as this weekend is in NOVEMBER!

ANNIVERSARY MONTH!

Hope to see something really special for C.I.N. Reckon the Daleks will turn up to exterminate One Direction?

Seriously I hope it will be good. Anyone noticed that C.I.N. has been put forward a week? As long as I can remember it has been put on around the 20-24 of November. Except this year. Ponder on that.

Looking at the dates on Wiki it seems to cycle presumably based on the location of the Friday in that week of the year...so since 2000 it has gone 17/16/15/21/19/18/17/16/14/20/19/18/17/16 and now the 15th this year.

Just as well, isn't An Adventure... possibly scheduled for the Friday night before the Anniversary? Don't want Pudsey stealing our ratings.

Yeah they did very occasionally...and have reunited for a few charity gigs. Pretty sure I've heard Stew say complimentary things about C21 Doctor Who, as has Richard, although with him it usually revolves around Amy Pond, the lecherous so n so!

However, they'd rather talk about their recent work in interviews rather than something they did many y....no, better not go there.

On-topic, I don't feel insulted by the running time either...just hoping it's a flippin' good episode.
