Dr Sheldon Cooper from "The Big Bang Theory". It's a US sitcom concerning geeky, but smart, scientists who are sf fans and the hot woman who is their neighbour. They are, of course, Doctor Who fans.

A member of apparent good standing on GB has said he has it on good authority that he knows the title of the Anniversary Special is (make of it what you will)...



Also, the opening episode of Series 7B seems to have been met with much praise. Den of Geek really seemed to like it, though nobody is allowed to say very much about it until next Monday

Because some people really will have those views. ( We are all expecting some big trailer stuff to come though, so if it doesn't eventually appear then maybe they have a point).

But this is a DW forum, so when a BBC celebration ( FOR charity) is on, then why shouldn't we here, on the DW forum be talking about the DW content, of said BBC celebration, and hoping to see as much DW as possible. It's only reasonable. I'm sure Eastenders fans like to see Eastenders stuff on there etc. My wife liked the Call the Midwife stuff.

It is supposed to be ( one of) the BBCs so called flag-ship shows, that they do make money off all around the world, so it is not unreasonable to expect a bit of celebration to go on for the fans of it. In a celebration year.

At the same time though, some people are going a bit over the top. Lets just watch and see the programme before we judge what it has been like. I can already picture some people seeing the posters and saying " cold war is going to be my favourite episode, but I don't like Hide because it tries too much to be like Blink"

I wish there were more stuff happening for year 50 of the show/ maybe there is stuff we don't know about yet- who knows. But I will be very happy all the same if the quality is so good. The quantity wont matter so much.

I'm pretty sure the was to indicate sarcasm.

I suppose the 50th will be like Christmas. You're either one of those people who only celebrates once the shops start advertising it in the streets or on TV, or one of those who put up their decorations in July, after only having taken them down two months previously.

Or you're one of those perhaps lucky people who aren't fans of Christmas (by religion or otherwise) and don't celebrate it at all, and are expert channel-hoppers!

It's a bit like the Emperors new clothes. Only those who have the right privileged genes can see it.

I wish the gvmnt would make an island 'Christmas- free' and those of us who want to escape for a month could go there on holiday in December. ( somewhere warm).
